Plenty of domination by Rangers, many shots, on and off target, but one was enough, scored by Harry Forrester from Michael O'Halloran's pass. The GAP is now 11 points, as Hibernian lost their match.

I thought the defence was good for the most part, especially Wilson, and we were fine holding on to the ball in midfield, but our crossing was diabolical and our finishing...well...
Took us a long time to start making decent chances but, contrary to what I expected, St. Mirren just camped in instead of trying to challange us in midfield. We still require a decent solution to the issue, although O'Halloran did a good job of carrying the ball into their box a number of times.

Great finish from Forrester, and assist from O'Halloran. As stated we were very wasteful in the final third. The referee today was rank rotten, the amount of persistent fouls he let go was unbelievable. Another good 3points and a step closer to the prem.

The one that stood out for me was when Mallan committed a deliberate foul to stop us breaking, then refused to move back 10 yards for the free kick. The ref actually pulls back play to go to speak to him but then somehow decides not to show him a yellow when either act would have been enough (the refusal to move back in particular as that's pretty much an automatic yellow in any other game of football I've seen).
But a win's a win all the same. I'm happy with an 11 point gap and 10 to play, although it's a bit disconcerting that we've only scored 1 in each of our last 5 league games. Definitely need to bolster our forward options for next season if we go up, although if we get a lineup of McKay/Waghorn/O'Halloran firing on all cylinders I think opposition defences could have a hard time of it.

We need some height in the middle. With the pace we have on the width it would be nice to have a target to aim at occaisionally.

We'd need that guy that played for Elgin, Paul Millar, to have any chance of getting on the end of our crosses.

I remember him, well who wouldn't. In all seriousness we need a central striker given O'Halloran and McKay love the wide open spaces. Today was indicitive of that, given they both end up having to cut inside to look for support. Watching St Mirren today confirmed they are at their level as a club, and a piss poor support to boot. Mind you the highlight of the day was bumping into Hibs fans at Queen St, their faces a picture.
