Can't judge it on the first 10-20 mins then either. Many programmes are slow to grip you. RE: TV Series that are good. - spireitematt - 19-03-2015 I have been watching The New Statesman on YouTube. Rik Mayall was a comedy genius. RE: TV Series that are good. - WakeyTerrier - 20-03-2015 All time favourite TV series in no particular order. The brilliantly funny Pheonix Nights, great comedy that nothing even comes close to beating. An old classic Auf Wiedersehen Pet, who would have thought a programme about a building site would become such a big hit with the nation. One from over the border now, Still Game. Pensioners behaving badly basically. Stumbled across it on BBC 2 and was so impressed I went and ordered the box set. Current viewing on the TeleBox/DVD catchup are Fortitude, a bit slow going Breaking Bad, I'm on to series 3 but have had to put the breaks on while I allow Mitzi to catch up RE: TV Series that are good. - Amelia Chaffinch - 20-03-2015 Have you been to see the phoenix nights stage show. Was talking about it t friends last night. Wish i'd gone now. Oh and Still Game is brilliant. On its way back, too. RE: TV Series that are good. - WakeyTerrier - 20-03-2015 I had conflicting reports over the live show so was glad I didn't bother in the end (Cas went) if you search you tube you can find the live version of Still Game RE: TV Series that are good. - Amelia Chaffinch - 20-03-2015 My friends were all complimentary about phoenix nights. :S RE: TV Series that are good. - ritchiebaby - 21-03-2015 Marco, your reputation has soared in my estimation. Soap must be the best ever American comedy. At the time, it was very cutting edge and the characters were so over the top, plus it brought Billy Crystal and Benson, the butler, to the nation's attention. As is usual, I did tire of it after a few years, as it lost it's bite and started to tail off a bit, but it could never hope to keep up the standard of the early days. You should be all right with Season 3. |
