RE: Match thread - Bolton at home - JimboHTFC - 20-09-2015 After 2 mins I was thinking 'here we go again' and we just didn't do enough in those 1st 44 mins. We didn't get to grips with Bolton who had far too much space and we looked vulnerable at the back. I thought Ward in particular looked shaky and doesn't really look any better than Hudson. Bunn was probably our best outlet, as for some reason, we weren't playing to Scannell. Miller looked disinterested and was poor. However, step forward Huws, who got a relatively clean contact through a crowd of players and its 1-1. Totally different mindset after that and the goal changed the game entirely. We came out in the 2nd half and we were all over them. Carayol came alive, and we just bossed the midfield. Just before we scored our 2nd goal, Huws missed a sitter with a header around 10 yards out and I felt it was only a matter of time before we scored. What I really liked though was that we didn't sit back, we continued to press and got our rewards. Even at 3-1 and then 4-1, we were still pressing for more. Bolton were on the ropes from around 70 mins on and how it didn't finish 6 or 7 was only down to woeful finishing from Miller, Bunn and Wells. More like the 2nd half please and we will give Forest a really good game on Thursday. Bolton will struggle though and I expect Lennon to get the boot in the next few weeks if their results don't pick up. We certainly dodged a bullet by not bringing him in! ![]() RE: Match thread - Bolton at home - Mirf - 20-09-2015 Wakey, I thought for a minute Mitzi had put her foot down and made you concentrate less on football and more on housework. ![]() Anyhow, it was a nice surprise to see us run out 4-1 winners, especially since we'd only managed to score 5 in our first 7 matches and Bolton had only conceded 6 in their first 7 games. So just as I was starting to get depressed about likely relegation, the lads have rammed my doubts back down my throat, although we now need to keep up the good work since Forest on Thursday will be another stiff test. RE: Match thread - Bolton at home - theo_luddite - 20-09-2015 I thought that going into the match against them last season Mirf. We buried them with possibly our best performance of the season. Another one of those on the telly will do nicely. Jeebers, Snoots, you cheeky pair of R'ses, I'll be in the chair again Thursday. My armchair at home with a couple of cold un's to hand. ![]() |
