That was fairly obvious, although the football authorities have to shoulder some of the blame. They allowed those fuckwits a free reign.

That's a fair shout too Coop.

U20s 5 - 0 Arbroath 1st team.

The development team has had a terrific pre-season so far. I think it's clear that we now just need to dump the first team squad and let these boys get on with it.

In all seriousness though, they seem to be really buying into the new tactical blueprint. Durrant's proving his worth as a coach too, and what seemed like a slight that might force him out the club (when he was 'demoted' from the first team staff) might prove to be the best thing that could have happened to him. He's been spared the chop because he falls under Mulholland's remit rather than Warburton's.

Yeah, we should have given these lads their chance quite some time ago.

What were out 1st team's most recent results against Arbroath? Obviously not a like for like comparison but I don't recollect any 5 - 0 pumpings.

3-2 Jan 14
5-1 Sept 13.

I suppose we shouldn't get too carried away since these are after all pre-season friendlies. No pressure on the kids and no points or glory on offer for Arbroath as motivation. But this and the win against Tynecastle at least prove this group are capable of competing physically with senior players. Mind you, I think most of our players were only on for 45 - 60 minutes so some of them still have to show they can keep up a level of intensity over 90 minutes. Others I would say have already got enough top team experience at Rangers or on loan to be used to that (eg. Murdoch, Gasparotto, Crawford, Gallacher).

Watched the highlights, and i have to say i was impressed. They looked comfortable on the ball, and more importantly wanting to play the ball to feet. Looking forward to the season starting.

Yip, 3 years ago when the club was liquidated. Big chance to restructure and never took it

Here's my take on how the line up is shaping:

Only real debate is over the central midfield and right winger. If Eustace signs (and is ready) I'd expect him to slot into Law's position, Law would move forward into Templeton's place, Templeton would switch out wide right and Walsh would be benched.

Interesting few days ahead now. Thumb up
