The best scenario here would be to get an owner like Southampton. Continue the Peace model but invest an extra £20m or so on the playing staff each season. If we target younger players with potential in the way that Swansea/Southampton have we can sell for massive profits. Coupled with slowly growing our infrastructure we could gradually move up to that next level alongside the likes of Southampton and Everton. The owner could still run us at a profit by moneyballing, coupled with the massive TV money.

Obviously the likelihood of one of those types of owners coming along is very small, therefore I would probably prefer to keep JP for the foreseeable future.

Out of interest, are the Liebherrs genuinely making a profit at Southampton? I know they've sold players for big bucks, but they've re-invested a lot of that in new players too. And I do wonder if, having failed to qualify for the Champions League again (which is their real aim), it's only a matter of time before they get bored of the whole thing.

It sounds just like the old Throstle Clubs, but I can't remember why we ditched all of them. There were 1/2 dozen around the Black Country at one stage, and I wondered why they didn't keep just the one by the ground (??)
