personally, given how busy life can be, you do a great job. Thank you for the time and effort you both put in.

Thank you B1.

Hopefully the scores will be posted today. Both SCO and I have full time jobs and though I usually have some spare time, occasionally work gets in the way (not helped this week by doing my US tax return which is rather more complicated than the UK equivalent!)
There's a reason Bomber and Beefy decided to pull out of this and occasionally I fully understand their thinking. And last time I checked, nobody had died as a result of the scores being a few days late.

Goodness me you ask a simple question and I'm busy do it yourself attitude comes out.
I'm sorry for taking an interest.

I look on here a few times every day and nothing.
Nothing like keep wasting my time looking for something that's not there.......

Blue, yes we are late this week, simply just down to personal circumstances and for that I apologize.  The results are not done by just one of us though, I do the Premier League and Zinman does the Championship scoring each week, we then message them to each other and I usually put them up on a thread once both sets are in.

Zinman and I jumped in to do this a few years ago after Beefy and Bomber quit Sportsbabble leaving us without a Prediction League organizer or scorer.  We volunteered to pick it up and keep it going but if the consensus is we are not up to the task then I for one will happily step aside if someone wants to take the gig.

I have un-official results after the last game, and can tell you Blue you are our new leader.

Which also leads on to has anyone noticed anything weird about my results.scores  on week 26 & 27 ? If you did why say nothing?

BBB, please enlighten me about your scores in weeks 26 and 27.  I do not appreciate the insinuation that something is going on with your scores and if there has been an issue you could have messaged me.

I did not insinuate you personally, I asked anyone.
On week 26 when i had a berievement, and wasn't paying attention until someone told me, I started with 267pts and on week 27 i also started       with        267pts even though you awarded me 5pts = 272pts.

And now have noticed that week when i have trouble posting and put down who would win/draw, I'd have scored 18pts - please check, its simple to understand - or I can paste them to you?

As I said no offence to you.

That's not it at all and I am sorry you feel that way. I was never suggesting anyone score it themselves (except BBB of course Whistle) but I am in the UK this week for my Board meetings, am flying home to Chicago after the L**ds game tomorrow and am at a trade show all next week!! I run the US division of a UK company and sometimes that gets in the way and takes precedent over this. That doesn't mean I don't care or can't be bothered, I love doing this but sometimes as BaggieOne said life gets in the way.

And due to work I haven't seen my 2 year old Grandson for nearly 2 weeks and that really pisses me off!!! Angry

RE: Prediction League Fixtures - Week 28 - Blue Baggie - 08-03-2024

I'm asking myself, how do I stop looking for the results several times a day.
How do I lower my interest levels so I don't feel the need to bother to check at all.

Ah, the addiction of competition!!!

Here are a few tips:

1. Don't put yourself in with a chance of winning it like you have done this season and last season!!
2. Don't be crap at it so you feel you look like a rubbish predictor to others!!
3. Don't care how you do!!
4. Find another addiction to get addicted to!!

I fear none of these will work and you will still be checking everyday anyway.

From a practical view, and one Stairs would advocate would be to subscribe to the WBA forum page, this will send you a notification when a new thread or post is added to the forum, so you can restrict your visits to when these arrive. Not sure that will not get annoying as well though if its a busy day on the forum!! But this is the technical answer to your dilemma.

We will endeavour to do better and help you cope with your affliction!! Whistle

I thank you for adding those 5pts now.
I have up to now thought score ball needs both teams to score, so the Fulham v Brighton match that i had as a SB was 3-0 so i deducted a 1pt. You didn't?

Thanks for that, but alas I think it's time to call it a day.
