RE: Sunderland news - themaclad - 15-01-2025 The arrival of midfielder Enzo Le Fee is a sign of how attractive Sunderland are for ambitious players, according to head coach Regis Le Bris. Frenchman Le Fee has signed on loan from Italian giants Roma for the rest of the season to link up with Le Bris. He only joined the Serie A club last summer in a deal worth around £19.4m from French club Rennes. "It's a good statement for the club because it shows that we are attractive," Le Bris told BBC Radio Newcastle. "The environment is positive to grow, to live big emotions and to improve." Sunderland are fourth in the Championship just past the halfway mark of the season, but only three points adrift of leaders Leeds United. Burnley and Sheffield United are second and third, both two points clear of the Black Cats, with the four clubs set for an exciting race for the two automatic promotion spots. Sunderland's next match is a trip to Turf Moor to face Burnley on Friday, when Le Fee could make his debut. The midfielder managed only 10 games in his few months in the Italian capital, a chaotic period for the Giallorossi in which they had three different head coaches. But Le Fee played under Le Bris at Lorient in France and the Black Cats boss knows exactly what he brings. "Enzo is versatile and has really good quality," he said. "He can adapt himself in different positions, a six, eight or 10. "We need depth in that part of the squad so we'll see in the 20 games we have left how we use Enzo and the other players."
