If you consider the number of passes Villa made in that game you'll find out they were going at over 8 passes a minute throughout the game, far more if you count actual minutes played. All that amounted to one goal and little pressure that had Stevenage struggling. I'm all for passing the ball, but the onion bag at each end of the pitch is there for a reason ........

I don't want to rain on anyone's parade, but you do realise the scorer of Chesterfield's first goal is a life-long Bluenose - so however the replay goes you've made a lasting memory for one of the game's journeymen.

As for the exciting 4th Round Draw ........ do you think two shadow squads might trot out when we meet again? Though I suppose for you it is a very winnable tie, and once the 5th Round looms and most of The Premier League has exited stage left, then Wembley begins to hove into view. But will that thought occur to Carlos?

I've lost touch with a lot of Football, generally. Was that Vile's 3rd Team he put out? The defending for both Stevenage goals was 'Sunday League'.
The 29,000 Villa fans should be reimbursed immediately (1st class post!) But they probably went home blaming the ref (knowing them).

I've played in many Sunday League defences that were better than that, talkSaft!
But you're right - although the chap drilled in the 2nd goal very well, nobody on the near post.... nobody quickly out to challenge....
.... WHAT A SHAME!! Big Grin

And the goalie, who like a lot of Sunday League keepers would have seen it coming and stopped it, was on the bench .........

The positive from the draw is that I can be at The Hawthorns for the replay and would hope we field a stronger team and get the job done in style.

The other, not all that surprising, news is that Bruce has retired from management. Although I would argue he had done that before taking the Albion post.

If only he had, Stairs!

Is it a Frank Sinatra retirement, announced so that some misguided chairman will talk him out of it in the belief that his middle-of-the-road club is a sleeping giant?

With reference to Stairs comment about doing the replay in style. I think what you need is just a team reasonably used to playing together, and of course you need us to play well again, or the whole experience falls flat like a large part of the Man City v Chelsea tie.

Devongone, I'd prefer it if you play like a drain, so we can just stroll through. I'd settle for flat over underpant-twisting tension for a change.
