That first half was the best football we've seen from Town all season by a country mile, we even looked like scoring from open play and did even though it was a fluke.
Second half was much more scrappy but for me we produced our best flowing counter attacking moves when Danny Ward should have at least hit the target and that was followed by Rudoni blazing one over when again he should be testing the keeper

A really good solid performance by us.
That's more like it....looking much more safe defensively and still had a threat going forwards.
Feeling a lot more confident in Fotheringham and his tactics now.

There was a lot more positives than negatives on saturday. The positives for me being;
1- an untroubled clean sheet, we didn't get many of those last season either
2- Jackson's versatile showing, yes he wasn't the best on the pitch but he showed something, we did say in the car after Fotheringham's interview where he said the next step is to train him as a number 8, why bother, train him to be the best he can in one position, we felt that Town did the same mistake with Tom Clarke who left, became more niched and had a good solid professional career. Make him the best left sided player he can be, he'll always have some familiarity with other roles, don't complicate matters.
3- game management, I thought we would lose our heads with the towel fiasco, but we managed to stick to the job
4- Felt Rudoni had a more complete game, still a lot of improvements to be made by him especially in the final third but good signs, also felt we saw the Kasumu we had scouted and hopefully he keeps it up
a couple of negs;
1- still signs of petulance in some players, mainly Holmes and Thomas. Holmes with a stupid little kick out in the second half for one, it will bite us on the arse at some point, Thomas is out on Wednesday because of 5 yellows, most of which were for throwing a wobbly or getting revenge.
2- Ward, probably one of his better games on Saturday, which isn't saying much and tbf he didn't really do much either, winning aerial battles against Cooper was never going to happen and should have done better with his shot before he went off. Rhodes always seems to be more of a threat, you always feel, or I do, that in and around that box, he shoots, its always going to be close, there is always a goal chance when he's there, with Ward, I don't feel confident chances will be taken, I feel he needs to have no time to think to do well.

7- Rise of the foot soldier- a movie about hooliganism and gangs that involves Millwall and West Ham

To defend well you have to look as though you can score a goal. You obviously did and that is a very positive sign.
Jjamez is right, petulance is a bad sign. Sorba Thomas is a very good player but getting himself suspended for five small pointless acts is not only ridiculous, but it also lets his team down. Maybe if you start to win a few, the bitterness against the cruel world will start to disappear. Hope so.

At least 3 of his yellows have been for moaning at the ref, Saturday's was for a foul trying to get to the ball. Was it a foul? yes. Was it a yellow? yes. Had he not believed he was suddenly an international superstar when moaning about bugger all really earlier in the season, he might now only be on two yellows at the most. There isn't a pro out there that doesn't moan at the ref at some point but he took it beyond the stage that the refs would tolerate.
In other news this Devon derby is quite tasty for a League 1 match.

Two cracking goals in that Devon Derby as well, not bad considering the atrocious conditions it was played in
