RE: Coventry City away - Lord Snooty - 01-05-2022 Oggy and the Leeds lass kept saying yesterday that they weren't allowed to mention the old sponsor. Did something happen there? ![]() RE: Coventry City away - theo_luddite - 01-05-2022 Yeah - the contract ran out. It's now the Coventry Building Society that sponsor its name, just like McAlpine and Galpharm's contracts ran out at ours. You don't hear Oggy and the wicked witch of West Yorkshire sport using those names any more. Glad I didn't know she was there. She's normally at Bellend Road and a complete jinx at our games. Now whether there was some other shenanigans going on - ?????? https://www.thestadiumbusiness.com/2021/05/05/coventry-building-society-takes-on-naming-rights-to-ricoh-arena/#:~:text=Coventry's%20Ricoh%20Arena%20will%20change,stadium's%20new%20naming%20rights%20partner. Make your own mind up. RE: Coventry City away - Amelia Chaffinch - 01-05-2022 I'm sick of her bringing Leeds into the commentary. And why do they need 3 of them there? RE: Coventry City away - theo_luddite - 01-05-2022 One to commentate, one to point out the finer points of the game and the other to check on the L666s score. As they were playing later, check on the other scores, get coffees at HT and drive the others home after a few beers. Think that's how it works. RE: Coventry City away - theo_luddite - 02-05-2022 Luton battered by Fulham tonight - will that have them wobbling against Reading or were they expecting it? Well they certainly weren't expecting that! How many 7-0s for Fulham now this season? Three is it? RE: Coventry City away - theo_luddite - 02-05-2022 Yup - Blackburn and Reading away were the other two. Brum and Brizzle got off lightly with only 6-2 hammerings down by the river. RE: Coventry City away - WakeyTerrier - 03-05-2022 I enjoyed my trip to Cov, decent ground, plenty of food and drink options underneath which meant it wasn't rammed and plenty of space to sup my beer in. Parked about 10minutes walk away which cost a tenner but we were straight out and on our way, back in The Sun for 7pm. The game itself, Cov were by far the better team and really didn't deserve to goal in a goal down but it's all about taking the chance when it comes and Toffs scored a belter with his weaker foot, Keeper had no chance. Second half was a better performance by Town and at long last Tino turned up to the party. Maybe worth a start against Bristol City this weekend. Given it is likely that we won't finish 3rd then maybe all change on the starting front this weekend, No point trying to second guess who we will be playing. It could be anyone from Sheff Utd, Luton, Middlesboro and Millwall and will probably change about 8 times between 12:30 and 14:20 on Saturday RE: Coventry City away - Lord Snooty - 04-05-2022 So Forest had all them games in hand and they could only top us on goal difference. I fancy us for 3rd now. RE: Coventry City away - WakeyTerrier - 04-05-2022 Both Town and Forest will play reserve teams on Saturday, both have a home game as second leg guaranteed and you can't possibly try and guess who will finish 5th and 6th in the League with 4 teams still in the running. |
