I almost went back to bed when it was on. It was rubbish. I think there was a lot of poor management by Carlos last night, sinani and Holmes shouldn't have been on the pitch longer than 50 minutes, they were very poor. Giving Rhodes and koroma less than 10 minutes is a bit of a piss take, it's not giving them much time to get up to speed with the game or to influence it. Rhodes should have been on to partner ward up top, he tries his hardest as a lone striker, but he needs a player up there with him, one that can hold his own and rat around for/with. I feel Rhodes' best cameos have been when hes been part of a 2 up top, blackpool- he got an assist, derby- he got a goal, he might have been in a 2 at derby away and looked solid and should have scored, but I can't remember.

All in all it's a good point from a place where we've conceded 3 goals and 3 points on each of the previous 3 visits.
You can only play what is in front of you and PNE under Ryan Lowe are a different proposition to the Alex Neil and Frank McAvoy versions we've most recently faced. I think we are in danger of over-expectation on occasions given our recent good run, with some recent (but not all) good and dominant performances (for 45 minutes anyway).
Clichéd to hell I know but we aren't going to play like the Brazil/Holland's of the 70's every game.

We never play like Brazil/Holland of the 70's.
I just don't see what others do, the football is more often than not dull and for me too negative.

I watched some of your game on TV when I could tear myself away from Villa and Leeds, or when they were rolling around on the floor having nearly been injured.
Both Huddersfield and Preston looked like organised Championship sides whose priority was not to lose.
The biggest surprise to me was that having managed Preston's efforts quite nicely you didn't go for the win. Ward obviously lacked a partner throughout. You had Rhodes and Koroma on the bench and gave them them only the dying embers of a game. I couldn't manage my way out of a chip bag, but Koroma is more creative than any of the first eleven you fielded, and Rhodes may not be the player he was, but he is still likely to grab a goal ............
It's true you can't expect to play like graduates of the Cruyff Institute every week, but equally once you've spent 75 minutes carving out the basis for an away win it seems sensible to give it a try if you really want to reach the play-offs.
Sorba Thomas often looks as though he might be dying, yet is as willing a runner in the 95th minute as in the 2nd. Rate him!

Hef in the Sky studio, was asked if the players have got the unbeaten run in their minds. He says not, but watching that last night, they most certainly have.
We're not going to get relegated now and nobody really expects us to make the play offs. So just play for the rest of the season like it doesn't matter. Unbeaten runs are all well and good if the majority are wins. Last night was dire but we had returned to that awful walking football.
I'm not questioning the effort of the players, just the desire to win.

Your pedestrian pace meant you were unlikely to make any terrible mistakes, but equally you weren't going to leave Preston gasping for breath, dazzled by your brilliance.
But your play-off rivals aren't that brilliant. Fulham have a couple of top-notch Premier League players in Mitrovic and Carvalho, Bournemouth's Solanke, Christie and Lloyd are good, QPR, you just have to pull the Chair from under them and give Dykes a penalty to miss, Forest's Spence and Johnson are keen and dangerous, Middlesbrough are very reliant on Isiah Jones out wide for excitement, West Brom have chained themselves to the ordinary with Steve Bruce, Blackburn's rise has been uniquely Chilean. A team that believed in itself and went for three points when they looked possible could even go up. Unfortunately only Fulham look as though they might have prospects of staying there.
