RE: New manager - drewks - 29-05-2021 Whow... UNCLE WOY?? https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/roy-hodgson-eyed-west-brom-24212055 Honestly not sure how I feel about this; would bring a whole lot of stability to a troubled club, but is hardly an appointment to excite..... Thoughts? RE: New manager - Dingle-Dingle - 30-05-2021 (29-05-2021, 23:38)drewks Wrote: Whow... UNCLE WOY?? Perhaps as a part time DoF, but IMO we need stability and a young(ish) forward thinking manager who will stick around. Not saying Uncle Woy wouldn`t stick it but his age is against him. Don or Eddie? ![]() ![]() RE: New manager - Stairs - 30-05-2021 Love Roy as we all do, it would be an awful decision lacking any strategy and future planning. Yes Director Football maybe, in support of a young manager such as Appleton. But I doubt any of the main contenders would want him pulling their strings. Yet again, Albion are taking an age to make a relatively simple decision. RE: New manager - wba13 - 30-05-2021 The Roy link is the Mirror putting 2 and 2 together and making 10, because of his link with Albion. I still think it’s a 2 horse race between Lampard and Wilder. Because of his experience of getting teams promoted I still think it will be Wilder. I also could be way of the mark we are good at curve balls and Ismail and Appleton can’t be ruled out, but I don’t think we will pay any compensation that’s why I believe it will be Lampard or Wilder. I think we will know next week. RE: New manager - Blue Baggie - 30-05-2021 We have so called candidates - or names of potentials? All paper talk and it counts for nothing, Wilder hasn't signed because he wants more then a coaches job. IMO anyone mentioned is waiting for big offers to tempt them, I would forget them all. We don't want money hunters. Luke should get a younger energetic manager who is more interested in proving himself. Certainly no one who is looking for a large pay day. All our so called good recent managers who had experience Pulis. Bilic, BFS, Pardew, Roy, have not improved us at all. Darren Moore - least experienced did more for the club IMO - he made mistakes, loyalty to Jones being the worst. Mowbury, Megson, Clark, Atkinson all came in and did fantastic jobs. Time to scour the lower leagues and forget the money motivated managers RE: New manager - Stairs - 30-05-2021 Decision made: Chris Wilder |
