RE: World Cup 2018 - Dingle-Dingle - 08-07-2018 Intersetingly....... England are now the only team who have to cross a body of water to get home. This Brexit is not a bad thing after all. Their football may be more functional than you’d expect with the squad they have but they’re very good at it. As for Belgium, I think they peaked too early against Brazil. Tonight they had a positive start but as soon as France sat in, they couldn’t break France down. They were at their best playing faster through the pitch but tonight they couldn’t play that faster style, they had to be more patient and they just couldn’t get through the blue wall. Whatever happens tomorrow night, I think France are going to win the final. RE: World Cup 2018 - talkSAFT - 11-07-2018 No disrespect to Chadli last night - he played as well as he could. But if they'd started with the lad who took up the right-wing role and got Lukaku into the game more, Belgium could have been going through. They're a great team and it was a cracking semi. Meunier is the usual right wing back and he was unfortunately suspended and because Martinez only took one player capable of playing at right back and right wing back, he was left to having to use Chadli there. Right back out of possession and right winger in possession. I thought he did as good as he could being played out of position. Lukaku’s positioning against Brazil was superb playing as more of right wing forward. Last night he was more of a target man and I think it didn’t suit him playing the role. He is better when he can pull towards the channel into space and run at speed. He wasn’t able to do it that much last night, had he been able to he could have stretched Umtiti more. RE: World Cup 2018 - hibeejim21 - 11-07-2018 France deserve to win the World Cup - in the knock outs they have put out Argentina, Uruguay and Belgium. They have been without doubt the best team in the tournament. If they play as they did today I can't see them losing the final even if they did stifle the game a bit last night. For all the (correct) talk of mbappe.... I thought varane was outstanding and absolutely destroyed lukaku. Apart from Gareth Bale and HRK I can't think of any who'd get in a GB team. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
