RE: WBA 2017/18 Summer Transfer Window (23 June) - 4evaabaggie - 24-06-2017 Looks like we are back to shopping at poundland ......... a big wage packet for Jonny could seriously hamper our window. We are down to 14 senior players, 13 if you discount MacManaman, if we loose Jonny as well we could be 13 players short of a 25 man squad. Seriously worrying times when all our targets are on the verge of being poached. RE: WBA 2017/18 Summer Transfer Window (23 June) - Beefy 1965 - 24-06-2017 I dont think there is any need to Panic yet ...I hope The powers that be must no we haven't got a squad big enough to put out a Match day squad .... I hope I think i read somewhere that TP likes to work with a squad of 18 QUALITY players So where does this leave us ? We need at least 5 More players of Quality , How much does 1 Quality player cost ? Also we need to remember with the players we have a number that are over 30 and G Mac is 37 !! So 5 Quality players plus another 2 or 3 squad players is a minimum, After letting players go and a clear out of our youth squad surely WBA FC aren't stupid enough to let this continue, Unless WBA FC have well and truly been sold up the river to the Chinese. I would hang fire yet as I say i Presume the club has a plan in place Who knows when we can officially sign someone from July the First maybe 3 or 4 will be signed the day after ![]() One thing I will say is if nothing happens early July i wont be watch the Asian trophy on Sky as the thumping's we get we be nothing short of embarrassing, Something has to happen and soon ![]() On a lighter note ............... Former West Brom flop Victor Anichebe has moved to China after leaving Sunderland. The Nigerian striker has joined Beijing Enterprises in the Chinese second tier and is looking to help them continue their recent good form. He was not included on Sunderland’s retained list and his short contract was due to expire at the end of this month. Anichebe scored three goals in 19 appearances at the Stadium of Light but injuries prevented him from enjoying a bigger impact after signing in September. With his injury record he'll be having acupuncture on a daily basis. He'll look like a Hedgehog ![]() RE: WBA 2017/18 Summer Transfer Window (23 June) - BaggieMan - 24-06-2017 Sicknote had his heart in the right place and only his 'Biscuit' issues prevented him from playing more games for either us or Blunderland. Everton did see us coming with the £6m we paid for his services rare as they were, but I wish him well in China. RE: WBA 2017/18 Summer Transfer Window (23 June) - drewks - 24-06-2017 Worrying concerns about our new owner: http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/shareholders-concerns-over-west-brom-13227136 RE: WBA 2017/18 Summer Transfer Window (23 June) - Beefy 1965 - 24-06-2017 I think the Share Holders are still miffed about how much JP valued their shares at Know-body really knows what money if any he will put in, Seems everyone is just guessing So Lai was happy with 10th place ? So was I ............ ![]() RE: WBA 2017/18 Summer Transfer Window (23 June) - Stairs - 24-06-2017 As always. We will have to wait until week 4 of the season to know what our squad will be. RE: WBA 2017/18 Summer Transfer Window (23 June) - Beefy 1965 - 25-06-2017 This may be bad news if true ............ Everton's reported interest in Evans in the Sun is a far bigger concern than Leicester's this is a move that really might suite the player given that they have European football deeper pockets (still not £100k a week) and critically Evans still lives in Cheshire so a lot more convenient. http://c.newsnow.co.uk/A/891257898?-11200:789:0 RE: WBA 2017/18 Summer Transfer Window (23 June) - 4evaabaggie - 25-06-2017 We are going to need a very busy window ........ we will need to double our squad size after all our departures ...... next season could be tough, I am a little worried. |
