I quite enjoyed the game, the first time I have said that in a while. Sess was on fire, Mulumbu looked like he was getting back to his form of old. Dorrans, Brunt and Baird looked the weakest links to me. Yacob was good in the sense that I did not really notice him, but did notice that the Sham had no where near as much joy through the centre when he came on. Ideye had little, if any impact at all, Varela should have started for me.

If you did not get to see the game its well worth a look on MOD, providing they give a fair representation of the game.

Downing pointed out that team selection and set up had been all AI prep in week "because that's the hard working diligent man he was'. TP made a contribution at half time but only s few suggestions.

Real impact starts now.

Definitely improved today, thought we passed and moved a lot better without Craig
Gardner in the midfield.

The front 2 played well, Sessegnon in particular, with great link up play for the goal.

Still don't see the point in Dorrans and Brunt, neither of which were missed when they
were injured - much like Gardner wasn't missed today. I think replacing these with someone
impactful would be a definite improvement.

What I liked today is that Yacob came on when we decided to steady the ship (presumably
a Pulis decision). We looked much stronger for that. He has to be used in these situations
for his positioning and tackling.

" impactful" Slick? Are you sure?! Smile
I think Mr Pulis is very, very good at looking at the balance of a team and what every player brings to that team.
I'm fascinated about what changes in personnel will happen this month - TP obviously knows all the existing players so I'm certain he's already halfway through his 'to keep ', 'not to keep ' and wanted ' lists....

A good result today. Welcome TP. Show us what you can do. There is a rumour we're after Crouch? Not to sure what to think about that to be honest.

RE: WBA Xmas/New Year Thread - drewks - 01-01-2015

I'd say the TP /Crouch thing is pure media crap ...... but who knows?

Not a big fan of Crouch. But if he was to come to us and knock balls down for Berahino or Ideye to pop in the net I'd be happy. He always is a lanky pain in the arse to play against.

Also given Sky's MOM award against United today Whistle

Nothing wrong with having Pete Crouch playing for you.

Bring it on... Thumb up

Crouch wouldn't be my choice due mainly to age. However, he is playing brilliantly for Stoke atm and I doubt they would let him leave anyway.
