RE: Summer Transfer Window 2019 - July 8th - Voice-of-Sanity - 10-07-2019 (09-07-2019, 20:53)Blue Baggie Wrote: I waiting for some of the posters to say we have to trust Dowling and Jenkins, this penny is taking a while to drop. We have this panic every summer! Dowling said some of the players who stayed last summer would go and that Slav would get the the baseline budget plus whatever is raised through transfers. That currently stands at 15m plus whatever we get for Rondon and Rogers, so around 30-35m. We are very early in the window, let's see where we are on 8th August. What we need is quality not quantity. Another 4/5 on top of Krovinovic will make a massive difference. I suspect it'll be quite a few more than that. I have to disagree with your numbers Extra Money coming into the club is as follows Parachute payments £35 million Rondon fee £16.5 million JRod fee £10 million Rogers fee £8 million Dawson fee £5.5 million That's £75 million - and before you say don't include parachute payments? - we wont when we don't have any. If Gibbs / Hegazi / Nyom leave as expected that will put another £15 million into the kitty. The "competitive budget" Jenkins quoted was nothing - not one penny and people wonder! why I don't trust anything that comes out of his mouth. I would guess Bilic will get £25 million to spend and £50+ million will be off to China. We can just but wait and see. We're in the same ball-park c 70m, which includes wages (existing contractual commitments/budget). So basically you're calling Dowling a liar? RE: Summer Transfer Window 2019 - July 8th - BaggieMan - 10-07-2019 The whole affair is very disheartening when the likes of Watford, Bournemouth, Leicester, Brighton and even the Dasterdly Dingles plus others are now well ahead of us. Under Uncle Roy we were a force to be reckoned with but when he left to manage England, we then employed two clowns in Pulis and Pardew who strangled the life out of our beloved club leaving us in the doldrums we now find ourselves. I fear that it will be many seasons before we once again become a Premiership force, if ever we do and we will see the Dingles and Vile competing to be The Pride of the Midlands. Makes you feel nauseous doesn’t it.

I fear we COULD become another Coventry City. A plea to BaggieVicar.. please pray that we don't.
RE: Summer Transfer Window 2019 - July 8th - silverbaggie - 10-07-2019 One of the original founder member football teams was recently relegated to non league football i.e. Notts County. So it could happen to anybody; we are not exempt! Now onto the rebuilding. Bilic to BUY us half a dozen new players. With tenacity please. Field Harper & Edwards to become regular 1st team players. Something we have all wanted. We all want success and we have a chance to create a new young vibrant team COYBThat’s a positive team. I like it. Stay positive and I think the team will end up better than this by the glorious 8th. I agree that I think Nyom and Gibbs may go and even Phillips if he does not sign a new deal. But I hope Hegazi will stay and that the whole defence is built round our man mountain.

I don't have a downer on the club I actually care far to much i'm afraid. You make me feel young I've only been a supporter for 55 years. Apart from the FAC and I was young then Coming up from the old 3rd division with Super Bob scoring for fun was more enjoyable then any promotion to the PL but that's just me. Actually had a chat with Bob at a charity game at Stourbridge FC in April - he was presenting awards to youngsters. great to see him still getting enjoyment out of putting a little time back into the grass roots. RE: Summer Transfer Window 2019 - July 11th - Stairs - 11-07-2019 More updates added - I would like to see more striker links - have I missed any? |
