RE: WBA 2017/18 Summer Transfer Window (19 June) - devwakey - 22-06-2017

Remember when they said this summer they wanted to get their business done early... yeah...

I was expecting us to be like Everton, splash splash splash and then have pre season together,

guarantee come October we are hearing how players havent had full pre season and the team is still gelling

I am still hoping that our new owner will loosen the purse strings a bit more than JP and we will make decent signings but that hope is fading!!

Somerset.... not read anything about Joe Ledley. Where did you get that info from?

Huh

Apparently Bayern are thinking of loaning out a good young attacker - bloke called Serge Gnabry. Do you think we could get him on loan? Could be just what TP is looking for... Whistle

RE: WBA 2017/18 Summer Transfer Window (23 June) - Dingle-Dingle - 23-06-2017

Burnley are hoping to ward off opposition from Premier League rivals West Brom to land Leeds United left-back Charlie Taylor, 23. (Burnley Express)

I read this Thread twice a day but, from previous years' experience, don't anticipate anything until the end of August. Agents wait until better offers come along - we do know that. It would be nice to get the players bedded in during the pre-season friendlies, but they realistically bed-in during September. With our early season fixtures we need every 3 points we can get to avoid the drop next season. (I suppose it's the same for all teams, though.)
I just wish they would scrap The Window.

agreed talkSAFT and only 69 days, 8 hours and 8 minutes of the window to go, time for another 120 players to be linked yet Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin

RE: WBA 2017/18 Summer Transfer Window (23 June) - Stairs - 24-06-2017

Ally Roberston in the Express & Dingle predicts business as usual and very little change in how we aquire players - also that TP knows how to build a squad over time and actually (unlike me and most of you) enjoys the last minute rush to the window saying:

"The new owners have said they’re not throwing in any big money, so I don’t think it’s going to be any different to what we’ve already had. We’ll stay in our comfort zone. We can’t get players who are also interesting those in the top seven.”
