Think you are underestimating the value of continuity.
Loovens has been better this season than last season so an extended contract makes sense. In recent weeks, I have been increasingly impressed with his captaincy. He is constantly talking to team mates & giving support & advice. Also, last season he picked up yellow cards like Hutchinson. This season, hardly any.
The contracts for all message creates a greater bond & unity between the players. Not giving contracts to current first team players would be divisive. Each new contract signed encourages others to sign. Hopefully the contracts for Nuhiu & Loovens encourage Hutchinson & Hooper to sign.
Hutchinson signs until 2018.
To to be fair your attending the games so in a better position to judge. Anyway I'm sure the prem is coming. Just hopefully sooner rather than later.

so we only need to sign poodle down and weve got the same team bar 3 extra signings short of promotion ? hooper for me is one of those signings !! 2 left neaded for me and ship out the crocks bus melo turner wtf hes still with us is unbelievable ? do we realy need laverey aswell and why did we sign Barry hes never going to play unless all the midfield falls crock ??

I think you've answered my query, MS. But, I'm with dubai. In the real world, Orwellian principles still apply. As a scientist, I also believe in survival of the fittest. I can see why CC did what he did but I just don't agree with him.
Then again, I'm not making the big bucks.

A longer term contract doesn't mean they won't be offloaded at some point but it does increase the potential sale value. How many times have players left for nowt?
But, currently the team spirit (playing or not) improved by these extensions may be the basis for MS getting to see us in the PL again !!!

There would be plenty of clubs in the SBC/L1 willing to pay fees for Loovens, Nuhiu et al if we put them up for sale.

I agree with Maddix I can see the savvy business side of it. It doesn't necessarily mean Nuhiu or Loovens will be here another 2 plus years.
DC is a business man. CC stated the contracts are in the hands of DC, he just recommends whom he would like for his squad.
