Did well to last long given most of his insides had been removed

Stainsby Girls is my favourite song. About his missus apparently - it was the school she went to.

40 million records sold, but only remembered for a Christmas song.

Not by me he ain't. One of the first live performances I went to see in Brum at the NEC not long after I first moved down here. Fanatastic back catalogue. If you only buy one of his Greatest Hits abums you'll soon realise you know a lot more than 'Driving Home for Christmas'. A Smoggie and a Yorksha lad through and through. I'm loading the sleigh for my own 'drive home' tomorrow.

Saw him support act to Joan Armatrading at the NEC

By most people, I meant. Sorry.

Like the young lad at work, who knew none of his other stuff but said Driving Home For Christmas was his favourite Christmas song.

And then Gary Davies (ooh Gary Davies) played Stainsby Girls on Radio 2. Cool
