RE: WBA 2018/19 Xfer Window - (25 June) Championship Rebuild - St Charles Owl - 27-06-2018 (27-06-2018, 14:42)Beefy 1965 Wrote: What a fookin joke been in discussions with Bristol City for weeks and didn't you know that this was going to happen,we are turning into a joke, a big fookin joke, I hope we have some Rabbits up our sleeve, as far as Jenkins who promised us signings to hit the ground running he has turned out to be nothing short of a liar just to sell season tickets which are up on last year's Get used to losing out on players to teams in the prem. Bobby Reid is a decent player, not sure he is PL quality but he is a good Championship player, but the chance for him to play in the PL will outweigh anything else you can offer while you are in the Championship. You will see this multiple times where good Championship clubs lose out on players to the lower PL teams, whether its all about the money they can offer or just the career choice to give the PL a go doesn't really matter, the Championship team usually loses out! RE: WBA 2018/19 Xfer Window - (25 June) Championship Rebuild - Beefy 1965 - 27-06-2018 I agree SCO but the point was for weeks we have been discussing a fee with Bristol, instead of penny pinching he would have signed before the mighty Cardiff came sniffing ![]() RE: WBA 2018/19 Xfer Window - (25 June) Championship Rebuild - St Charles Owl - 27-06-2018 (27-06-2018, 19:24)Beefy 1965 Wrote: I agree SCO but the point was for weeks we have been discussing a fee with Bristol, instead of penny pinching he would have signed before the mighty Cardiff came sniffing But in reality you don't know that. Maybe WBA had offered 10m but the player wanted to wait to see if he got any offers from the Prem, that scenario is just as likely. Also, you may have offered say 8m, and Brizzle decided that this early in the window they could afford to wait and see what else came in. Thing is, unless you get these signings over the line before news gets out then there is always a chance for a bottom half PL team to jump in, offer a couple of million more and 15k per week extra wages, and there is nothing you can do to compete with that without ending up like us, L**ds and currently Villa!! Thought he was the one player that had committed to the club...I guess his agent had other ideas!! Clubs in a complete mess, feel sorry for Big Dave. RE: WBA 2018/19 Xfer Window - (25 June) Championship Rebuild - Beefy 1965 - 27-06-2018 I will try and find his tweet later not sure if I can now but it read Family and friends all settled in the area ,kids happy at school, why would I leave very happy here ![]() The last person I expected this from was Fozzie ![]() RE: WBA 2018/19 Xfer Window - (25 June) Championship Rebuild - WBA-Josh - 27-06-2018 (27-06-2018, 20:56)Baggie_One Wrote: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2018/06/27/west-bromwich-albion-discipline-ben-foster-craig-dawson-refusing/ If true then sell them both to the highest bidder(s) after disciplinary action has been taken. We need players who want to play for the club, these two seemingly don’t anymore. RE: WBA 2018/19 Xfer Window - (25 June) Championship Rebuild - Beefy 1965 - 27-06-2018 Let's not forget these two also begged the board to give Big Dave the job full time WTF And we though it couldn't get any worse than last year ![]() Nice to see all the players who backed Big Dave to get the job full time jumping ship. #MeNotWe RE: WBA 2018/19 Xfer Window - (25 June) Championship Rebuild - Suffolk Baggie - 27-06-2018 Hi All Have not posted anything for a couple of years. However now seems as good as time as any. In 60 years as a baggie following them through thick and thin I dont think I have been more pessimistic than I have this close season.Just seen the news about Foster what the hell is going on? The recruitment department appears to be in complete mess, just who is in charge of that. I dread to think what we will end up with come the start of the season. Last day panic and hope for the best. How can BD go and prepare in this camp in Portugal with a skeleton squad. I have never understood over recent seasons why it takes us an age to sign anyone. I understand we dont fully know what goes on but you read in the press a club has an interest in someone and next day they have signed, but us weeks go bye. Even down here in sleepy Suffolk, I read in the local paper that Ipswich have just signed a season long loan for a young winger from Chelsea who was on the fringe of their first team and was on the bench. Surely this type of player should be on our radar. Come back and rescue us Jeremy. RE: WBA 2018/19 Xfer Window - (27 June) Championship Rebuild - Stairs - 27-06-2018 Foster is the ultimate proof that you can't believe a single thing a player says about loyalty and respect to the fans and club. All that sh1t about making good next season after getting us relegated - total B*****Ks and it has killed what little faith I had that a footballer has a soul |
