I'd have still called it a shower of crap had we held on to 2-1. I don't think CC got it right at all with regards to a midfield that doesn't track back and a defence that doesn't really know one another.

His options were limited though, as stated we needed to preserve first team starters. Our main problem. Price, whilst not completely awful yesterday, he still wasn't great. he doesn't have the authority of his area like Westwood. I can't see Price barking at his defenders for being dick heads, Westwood does.

Bennett, first game in a new side. Hoping he shows something but you have to wonder. If he was quality he'd be in the first team at Villa keeping them out of relegation.

Turner, Sougou, Bus, Wiggins and probably Semedo or Melo and Price to go at the end of the season.

CC needs to drill them, we can't go into the Burnley game with the Shrewsbury mentality. Our GD will get ravished.

It may have been a shower of crap had we hung on at 2-1 but at least we would be saying that we won while playing below par. Think the midfield was unbalanced to some extent but mainly due to McGugan dropping so deep which forced Semedo to move forward more than he was comfortable with.

The defending was poor for the goals, slow reaction to the penalty save but it is a stonewall penalty for the when nuhiu gets challenges when its 2-2.

I don't think the highlights are representative of the whole match. While Turner, Bennett & Sasso were poor in the final quarter, they were spot on in the first half. Turner & Bennett tired at the death and will be better in a couple of weeks. Sasso struggled trying to cover for tiring team mates. Price is just an average keeper, way behind Westwood & already behind Wildsmith although he did make a couple of decent saves yesterday.

I think we will be fine when Lees is back, whoever plays alongside him, assuming he is straight back to full fitness.

I doubt that any of yesterday's midfield will appear much in the run in with Hutch, Lee, Bannan & Wallace possibly competing for three places. The lack of form from Joao & Nuhiu is worrying though.

I thought so at the time but having watched it repeatedly the clue is in the feet positions. The Shrewsbury defender just jumps in a straight line for the ball while Nuhiu just takes steps backwards to make a back for him, preventing him a clear jump at the ball. If Nuhiu had't backed into him, he would have cleared it easily & fairly.

I agree with imre. Take the high road and leave our opinions about the value of the Shrewsbury game and the FA Cup alone. Problem is some people don't seem to realize that the old git likes to joke around, pull people's legs, tease them. So I often exaggerate a point (usually it's a point that I consider valid), lay it on a bit thick, just to get a reaction. And some of you fall for it. Hint: you can often tell whether I'm joshing around by the icons I put on the post.

I don't always do that though. Huh Laugh Dodgy Whistle Smile Cool
