Nice one on the pics!

The old lady looks much better.

There was a freshness about the place Stateside. It felt good and he's certainly spent a few quid this summer. The concourses are much nicer places to be. There are now deals on before the game if you arrive early and I think some offers at half time. The Leeds game was on the big screen in the ground before kick off. I have heard we are going to be beaming back some of the more popular away games as well which is a good idea if the prices are reasonable.

The poles on the kop and west stand need to be got rid of, all views need to be unrestricted these days, I'm sure they will sometime in the future.

Had to laugh when I read Cotterils comments. Whining that we played "counter-attacking football at home"

Isn't the idea to out-think and outplay your opposition using every legal tactic at your disposal?

I liked the statement by CC about analysing Brizzle before we played. I don't think SG ever did this. And if he did, he never mentioned it.

It's only one game, but, I'm feeling positive about the implementation of tactics that allowed us to use the ball well when in possession. It bodes well that the players are given constant instruction & motivation from the side lines too. SG & DJ were far too unanimated for my liking and much worse than that, reluctant to change anything.

Hunt looked quality, powered down the channel a few times. He's not getting in the Palace team so we should just set up a deal to keep him when his loan expires. Or perhaps just bid at Xmas

Once Wiggins is bedded in I reckon we'll have one of the best defences in the league.

Had to watch the match on a computer in Florida so really difficult to assess how players played off the ball.

Collectively, we looked much better than we looked last season. There appeared to be a plan and we adjusted as the match progressed. We missed a number of chances but Matias has an eye for goal and at least gets into the position. He will get goals. Full credit to McGugan for getting there for the second goal.

Westwood - 6
Hunt - 8
Lees - 7
Loovens - 6
Helan - 7
Lopez - 7
Hutchinson - 7
McGugan - 7
Wallace - 7
Nuhiu - 6
Matias - 7

We should get better as the players get used to each other. I would be tempted to play about seven of the starting eleven again on Tuesday night with Semedo for Hutchinson, Wiggins for Helan and Joao for Nuhiu the most obvious changes. At the moment, there is more to be gained by the players playing an extra match than getting a rest.

If we can find a 20 goal striker then promotion is a realistic target.

Matias and Wallace suffered badly with cramp and Wallace limped off so he may be rested. Lavery could fill in down the left.

Definitely Semedo for Hutch. I'd give Nuhiu another game.

Didn't Hunt also come off with cramp?? If so I would also play Palmer at RB. I don't see the point in playing Nuhiu in this one, we need to give Joao some decent game time to get his fitness up and to integrate him into the team, we know what we will get from Nuhiu, we need to find out what we can get from Joao.

Agree. We know what we get from Nuhiu - lots of effort in burst but ultimately he doesn't get into the box enough & when he does, he misses too much. He may well get a start next Saturday.

It's a difficult one but I think I'd go with most of what CC thinks is his best 11. Game time is important at this stage of the season.

Win it by HT then throw some subs on Thumb up
