Sorry to hear it too jjamez, you and your family are going to have a lot on your hands to deal with.
Have a friend I first met down here back in the 90's, another Yorkshire lad, that's been living with it for years. Takes more pills a day than 3 of us could probably buy (officially) from the supermarket in one visit. He was diagnosed not long after I came back from Canada, so best part of 20 years ago. There's a bit more light on the horizon now, I understand, than just throwing a cocktail of pills at it, but his wife has her hands full with him, add it to other things that happen as you get older without Parkinsons, though her son helps her out a lot too, and it's not any fun for anyone.
He's now in his 70's and when he's awake he can still hold a good conversation and asks about all his old mates down the local, not that many of his old mates still go down the local these days, but he can often doze off mid-sentence so you don't really know what he was going to say or ask.
I've another pair of friends, married to each other who've both gone down the Alzheimer's route within a few years of each other and both were (still are really) very highly intelligent people.
I'm not sure which is worse. Friends/family that are physically able but can't recall what they said/asked 10-15 seconds ago so ask you the same question 4 or 5 times before they move on to something else (but they know what they and you were doing 10/15/20 years ago), or folk that are mostly compos mentis (other than from the effect of medications) and their bodies become rapidly less physically able to function than they normally would at their age.
Families and friends that help their kin and friends should be supported far more than we do in this so called civilsed society, both physically and financially.

Aye, sorry to hear that, jjamez. At least you've got confirmed what you thought now. Not much consolation though. Parkinson's is one I'm not familiar with, personally. So I won't comment further.

Sounds like the changes are just for families / single parents. And extending it til May.

He shouldn't have to react to criticism. It was claimed these prices were all discussed with supporters groups, which is clearly bollocks. Going high and then rowing back to make it look like you've listened doesn't wash with me. If they discussed/listened in the first place they'd have been here or better in the first place.
I don't see why there's such a short time limit (before the start of next season) for renewals.
I don't see why new SC buyers are likely to be asked to pay more.
I don't see why folk should pay more in one stand than another (other than the uncovered crap stand, they should pay supporters to sit in that stand).
I'd love to know how many of the folk that designed that stand have ever sat in it to watch a game in bad weather.
I'd bet it's less than the number of nails I have on one finger.
Originally desined to have no seats below the Upper bit, so it could be used to build stages for concerts/rock bands and the roof didn't need to extend too far. That worked out well didn't it? How many above half a dozen have we held at the stadium in the last 30 years? The Piece Hall in Halifax now holds more in any month (some times in a week) every summer than The McGalphSmiths has held since it was built. Go figure.

I’m still waiting for them to announce what the value is against match day prices for next season. I asked the question last week on X and tagged htafc, htafchelp, Kev, and his sidekick Dave into the question, I asked on Sidekick Dave’s thread for questions to Kev on DATM and I e still got no answer a week on. This morning I’ve emailed the club and asked again.
I don’t think it’s an unreasonable question to ask, I’m sure they know the answers I’m looking for. All I’m doing is my background research to find out if it’s worth our while buying a season card because as it stands my good lady Mitzi won’t be renewing as she tends to miss quite a few games but if we had that info then she may
By the way, the other changes are a step in the right direction and should be applauded.
However, questions should be asked regarding whoever they consulted, and I’m not sure if it shows he’s a strong leader who listens or a weak leader as he’s buckled yet again.

So they are refusing to answer my question. I’ve gone back to them with the following
Hi xxxxxxx, thank you for the reply. However it doesn’t really answer the question raised. How are we expected to make an informed decision on buying a season card or not if we are not in possession of all the facts.
Will the match-day prices be announced before the renewal deadline or are the club expecting us to just buy blindly. If you are unable to answer this question because they haven’t given you the answer could you please escalate it up the chain to those that can answer.

It's a few seasons back now but when I queried Town about their Season Ticket prices and a very short window to renew (which at the time was possibly in February) and I said I wasn't happy with their copy and paste corporate reply I was quickly asked to come in for a chat before a match. So I had my 15 minutes of fame with Sean Jarvis (pretty sure it wasn't Clibbens) and the delightful Ann Hough. They quickly realised I wasn't a loud mouth keyboard warrior (not that you'd notice on here
), I got what they were doing and they got what I was saying, we parted with a hand shake and I've no idea who we were playing, but the season ticket window was extended shortly afterwards. Eventually we were all paying the same price all round the ground, though it was during Deano's time so we might already have been. Oh, I also got to see Deano's filing cabinet. A cardboard box on top of a cupboard. 
Guess that's not happening this time Wakey?

By the way, I've still got Ann Hough's Town email address in my contacts, she pops up now and then for some reason - not that any message would be forwarded to Barnsalee these days I suppose. More electronic paperwork I need to work through. I've phone numbers and email addresses from folk I've not dealt with in donkeys years. They all used to be (and still are) in a little red book.
