sorry about that old boy i lost it there ? but youve realy got on my wick today !! but ill have the last laugh when nuhui plays in the week and we lose and this will prove to you how important it was to win this game without all the bad vibe and hype that we are going to get !! its not about the Facup as we where nevr going to win it !! its about the loss off confidence and the first team players playing like they will always be picked whatever happens from now to the end of the season !! weve shit a big hole now and we wont win nothing for the next few weeks and the season will be over !! and this will have been the sarting point !! like ive said before im not even going to bother on tuedsay as ive seen this film so many times before the bad thing is that i will have to next saturday against Birmingham !!

I hadn't taken offence imre. Just trying to add a light touch.

I agree with SCO. This is not the end of the world and we might pull it together in the league. hopefully.

It's not the end of the world by any means, better teams than us were knocked out in the prior round. And for clubs like L**ds things like this are all they have to smile about these days.

We have to come back with a result against burnley.

But we wont statesider ? youve watched the film with me many times ?

Serious question PEI. Did you ever play football in a team in a league at any level ?

It's just that, like Imre said, winning breeds confidence. It doesn't wash that the starting XI on Tuesday will be different. The club has taken a blow today. Sheffield Wednesday have lost to Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup and with that the mood of the whole squad will be downbeat and another little chip has been taken out of our confidence and seeds of doubt sown. Any player worth his salt will in no way be thinking it doesn't matter because they didn't play. The whole squad will be on a downer.

That is why we needed to win this Doh

I agree that winning breeds confidence but at the same time surely losing one game in the FA Cup where 10 of the starting 11 didn't play won't destroy the confidence we have built with our league form??  I do agree with Imre that the 2nd 11 putting in a great performance also keeps the starting 11 on their toes but that didn't really happen today.  I think we are a different proposition these days and I am hoping that the team will use this defeat to spur them onto a better performance on Tuesday and the remaining league games.

You are right, he doesn't normally blame the ref but it seems from what is being said that it really should have been a pen to us before the broke up the other end to score!!  Still should have stopped them but for CC to complain there must have been something in it.

If the other players are not affected or bothered about this then I would say there are cracks in the squad and they will only get wider.

It remains to be seen what will happen but I'm of the opinion that this will set us back for the next few games.

A defeat has never spured us on before ? we will draw and lose the next game and then find ourselves chasing like mental for 6th place again ?

RE: Match Thread Sponsored by PEI - Shrewsbury Town - St Charles Owl - 30-01-2016

I'm not saying they aren't bothered or affected by losing, in fact I am sure that they are, I am just not convinced one bad result will see us plummet down the table!! This is the 4th time we have had a "bad" defeat, Charlton, MK Dons, Stoke and now this one, all away from home but all followed by decent unbeaten runs, we now need to show our character and do that again.

We haven't lost two on the trot all season, not reason to start now!!
