Possession stats:

41% W
59% L
55% D
40% D
50% L
54% L

When we have had 50% possession or more we have drawn 1 and lost 3.

It seems to be endemic in the club that players are unable to hit the target and if you don't hit the target it isn't going to go in the net. I've been on about this for a few years now but a team can probably expect to score about every 4th or 5th attempt ON target over a season (yes there are exceptions like Burnley's 3 out of 6 today but that's why I'm talking averages) so it's imperative that players are accurate when chances come. Burnley had 50% accuracy today whilst we had a measly 15%.

I think there was one game last season where we had 22 attempts with 4 on target  Doh It will always cost you  Angry

You are correct that Nuhiu is not the only culprit and I am not even sure he is always the main one each game.  But he is wearing the shirt week in, week out that should be worn by a far more clinical striker that would at the very least take the pressure of others to need to score.  As a team we should be relying on the striker to score and seeing goals from other areas as a bonus.

Pudil did ok.  Lee had another good game

I can't actually believe that Turner wasn't playing and I now understand why L&*ds let Lees go.

And Liam Palmer has never ever ever ever been a RB in the whole history of the World  Angry Midfielder possibly, but RB is just a big fat NO  Angry

NO idea where Hunt was Maddix.

He did say he'd rotate the squad and a few of us were very surprised at todays line-up.

Couldn't agree more though, if you miss the mount we do, you will get punished. We're all so familiar with the "Sucker Punch" now its becoming a running joke..

This coming week will be very interesting I expect to see some loans made. Lavery & Bus to leave? Lachman, Dielna?

Palmer.. I'm starting to wonder if this is as far as his game can progress.

RE: Match Thread - Burnley v SWFC - St Charles Owl - 12-09-2015

Why did Hunt not play today? While he hasn't apparently been as good the last couple of games he is still our best RB. Turner needs to come in, Lees needs a leader next to him to play well. Not sure what to do with midfield though, so many options, CC has to find the right combination but Forestieri is a definite after his decent performance today.

I hate this rotation shite  Angry Play your best fkucing team every game  Angry and if the poor sensitive bastards can't hack playing twice a week for thousands of pounds make them do 60 hours a week in the loading bay at ASDA on the night shift for seven quid and hour instead  Cool

MMMMMM, midfielders Charlie  Angry I'm going to refer to Hutchinson as the Scarecrow (from Wizard of Oz) now  Thumb up Doesn't have a brain and breaks too easily  Laugh

RE: Match Thread - Burnley v SWFC - Owlkev71 - 12-09-2015

Does the "The Committee" get the blame for not bringing in a quality striker, I know Joao came in but he is unproven.

This time last season our record was:

W2 D3 L1 F5 A4 Pts 9

Too many defensive errors have been the problem this season, Westwood being injured hasn't helped, but 3 of the back 4 today were basically our first choice last season. Hunt can play RB and I think Sasso has played that position too, Turner could come in at CB, what if Turner plays and makes an error that costs us, will we be calling for him to be dropped?? U cant legislate for players making individual errors whatever we think of them.

There were several people calling for CC's head on Praise or Grumble and there's already a thread on Owlstalk calling for him to go, too early for that imo.

RE: Match Thread - Burnley v SWFC - Maddix - 12-09-2015

How can you expect a team to gel when it's never the same Doh I don't give a shit about what happens in training because anybody who has ever played football to any sort of standard will tell you that training is absolutely fucck all like playing in a real game. Stop the rotation and allow the players to get to know each other in a real game context and we may get somewhere. Yes it's tough on the fringe players but hey ho it's better than the night shift at ASDA.

RE: Match Thread - Burnley v SWFC - Owlkev71 - 12-09-2015

Highlights of the game now on the telly.

Cracking free kick from Jones.

Cracking header from Nuhiu, good cross from Pudil.

Loovens at fault for their second, possibly Liam too.

Palmers fault for their 3rd, or u could say good closing down by Gray

Wildsmith was unlucky with the last two goals!
