Yes it is but Guy Verhordstadt former PM of Belgium who is a big player in the EU and is helping Britain do the exit talks said if we change our minds now we won't go back to the same deal we had before. We would have to pay more contributions to the EU, we wouldn't get a rebate and we would have to hand over more control and powers. It's now confirmed, following requisite sample tests, that both insulation and cladding are combustible materials!! That revelation just confirms that someone (and others) is 'taking the piss' on this important provision for Grenfell Tower! Criminal action now being initiated! RE: On political analysis - hibeejim21 - 23-06-2017 Those poor poor people. God bless them. RE: On political analysis - 0762 - 23-06-2017 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-40389148 Now 4000 residents in Camden being evacuated tonight by the Council from tower blocks with the same 'risky cladding' and looks like hotel provision being arranged - a 'can of worms' comes to mind! RE: On political analysis - ritchiebaby - 24-06-2017 Running scared is what comes to my mind. I'm also inclined to take the figures quoted with a pinch of salt. 4,000 people in 650 households according to this morning's news = an average of 6 per household? RE: On political analysis - 0762 - 24-06-2017 Yep! Knowledge can be damning ritchie! And fear of a massive libel action ensuing in the event of a similar catastrophe taking place! RE: On political analysis - hibeejim21 - 24-06-2017 Leadsom accusing the media of being unpatriotic in questioning the govs brexit strategy. Interviewer said "are you accusing me of being unpatriotic"? Leadsom "no" Wibble. RE: On political analysis - 0762 - 26-06-2017 The country is polarised and divided on this whole brexit issue and the use of the word 'patriotic' is a misnomer anyway! I'd personally like to see a rerun of that referendum but also with mandatory voting put in place and I'd be 100% confident that the vote would be a resounding REMAIN, the way it should've been the first time around when the binary choice was a mismanaged 'botch up' of the highest order a la David Cameron and the leave campaign was a gross misrepresentation of the facts and with a predominantly partial anti EU press 'on board' that had literally been at odds with the EU for over 20 years!!! RE: On political analysis - hibeejim21 - 26-06-2017 I loved davis describing barnier as "very French" on Andrew marr yesterday. What a complete moron. It's clear his little Englander, back of an envelope plans for brexit are already in deep shite. He was fooling no-one. RE: On political analysis - 0762 - 26-06-2017 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/uk-politics-40403501 And the Tories finally seal a pact with the DUP in a formal deal that Nicola Sturgeon calls 'grubby' with some justification! No extra money for Scotland, Wales or areas of northern England but the DUP manges to pull off a £1B money grab from that 'magic money tree' that the Tories have referred to often enough in their own rhetoric against opponents like Jeremy Corbyn - THIS WAS A VERY BAD MOVE AND THAT ERROR WILL COME BACK TO HAUNT THEM WHEN THEY ARE EVENTUALLY REMOVED FROM GOVERNMENT!! |
