To all those who thought he should be given a second chance, how's that working out for you?

He does appear to have rabbit droppings between his ears and whilst you wouldn't (personally) want him within a long bargepole's length of Town, what he's done is no different from Ivan Toney and dozens of other footballers "who should know better". This would be the same Ivan Toney that several other Prima Donna League clubs are seemingly willing to hold their noses and stick ~£100m on the end of their bargepoles to prise him out of Brentford this summer. He'll likely be back in England's squad pretty darned soon too.

Both been caught, admitted to what they've done, been punished and no doubt will have to (or had to) attend an FA sanctioned course too.

What the mechanism is for the FA finding out about this in the first place never seems to get explained. Nearly always, it's been going on for several years. The Bookies clearly aren't shopping them, though they might not be directly placing the bets either. Whilst most "addicts", if that's what we might want to label them as, will find ways to try and hide what they are doing. Few can ever keep a "big win" quiet for long though and if they are spending more than they are earning then that will show up sooner or later somewhere in their lifestyle too. Most professional sports folk were never top of the class at school in anything academic, so they aren't the shiniest tools in the box as adults either. No reason to lock them up and throw away the keys though.

Like Ivan Toney and Toffolo mostly they have been gambling whilst in EFL obscurity secure in the knowledge that their careers were going nowhere. Becoming a bigger fish for the FA to fry in the oil of a murky past will always turn out to be too tasty a morsel for the game's idiot rulers to leave on the side of the plate.

In the FA's eyes it was okay for Chesterfield to be owned by first a criminal then a casino-owner, but woe-betide any player eyeing up the fixed odds.

What would you do marooned in Northampton when training ends ...... and you're single, living in a flat you don't like, with too much money in your pocket?

In Harratt's case he was out getting some fresh air excercising his dogs. Unfortunately he was doing it in some farmers fields over Selby way. Wouldn't be too surprised if it comes out Toffolo and Harratt knew about each other's extra curricular activity.

Darren Moore said: "When speaking to Carol Shanahan OBE (co-owner and chair), Dave (Flitcroft - director of football) and the club’s board, it’s clear that Port Vale FC and I are perfectly aligned with our long-term aspirations both on and off the pitch.

Where did I read that (with a few name changes) just a few short months ago?

MARK FOTHERINGHAM says he’s baffled top Scottish clubs have snubbed him despite a stellar coaching CV in England and abroad.

He's from Dundee, a city of 2 current vacancies. You'd think he might have the nouse to find the front door for at least one of them, even if they are next door to each other? Obviously he thinks he's Rangers, Celtic, Aberdeen material when he's really more Clyde reserves. The man's a fool.

He’s a legend in his own mind. I got sent that link yesterday afternoon and it’s hard to believe the garbage that comes out of his mouth
