RE: Not The Town O'Clock News - ritchiebaby - 07-08-2023 Don't call these cretins "arseholes", theo. Arseholes are useful. RE: Not The Town O'Clock News - Lord Snooty - 07-08-2023 No doubt they'll pull it down now and redevelopment it. A new Berni Inn or a Happy Eater eh? RE: Not The Town O'Clock News - theo_luddite - 07-08-2023 Some of them are ritchie. Some of them turn up in Parliament and talk a load of shite rather than just passing it, let alone those that turn up in quiet country lanes with bottles full of petrol. Not quite sure how useful any of that lot are to be honest. More likely to become a block of flats Snoots that will somehow develop a lean that we can house our "small boats folk" in whilst calling it a tourst attraction. The Leaning Tower of Dudley? RE: Not The Town O'Clock News - Was Wereham Owl - 07-08-2023 Nice to be back in the championship ...hope you're all going to be nice to us , hope you have a good season ( apart from the 2 obvious games) RE: Not The Town O'Clock News - theo_luddite - 07-08-2023 We're pretty civilised on here and you are more than welcome to join in the fun and games and banter with us WWO. SCO is a regular and respected participant from your end of Penistone Road, even if he lives in a furrin land. RE: Not The Town O'Clock News - theo_luddite - 09-08-2023 The Crooked House saga is now national news. Apparently the guy that bought it also owns the land that surrounds it. Go figure eh? 8 foot high mounds of earth appeared from somewhere to stop the fire bobbies getting to it on Saturday night but yet the new owner managed to get some big JCB type kit in there to totally demolish it yesterday without council permission to do so. I don't have much time for Andy Street to be honest but he's sticking his oar in on this one even if it's just outside his manor. Fair play there mate, insist it's rebuilt back into it's former glory, though a few locals have wandered off with a brick or two under their arms so there might be the odd pigeon hole in the walls when it 's done. RE: Not The Town O'Clock News - Amelia Chaffinch - 09-08-2023 Yes, I saw it on BBC app. I'm always suspicious when these things happen. RE: Not The Town O'Clock News - ritchiebaby - 09-08-2023 Interesting, veeerry interresting. RE: Not The Town O'Clock News - Lord Snooty - 09-08-2023 It's made it onto the Jeremy Vine show now. RE: Not The Town O'Clock News - theo_luddite - 09-08-2023 ![]() Yes I know it's been closed for a while as the brewery couldn't find someone daft enough to pay their rent demands. That someone then broke in and vanadalised the place whilst it was being (or just had been) sold and then someone decided to burn it to the ground .... um, quite. Follow the money. Put the twat that bought it in prison. Who else is responsible for this vandalism? Sue me if I'm wrong. I can't keep every desparate pub open (gawd knows I've done my best since I was 18 years old (ahem). I'm sure a few more on here have chipped in) but I despair at outright vandalism of this kind. Turning them into "other accomodation" at least protects the building and it's history even if another community asset is no longer used for it's rightful historical purpose. It still lets you walk past and reminisce of ale/wine/spirits filled days/evenings of years gone by. Sorry if I'm having a bit of a rant on this, but once in a while you need to vent. I've been down here almost as long as I lived up Nooerth, I'd be just as pissed off if some clown burned down The Piece Hall. Any road, Town play Leicester on Saturday .... someone else is in charge of that bit of history. (09-08-2023, 14:19)Lord Snooty Wrote: It's made it onto the Jeremy Vine show now. Amazing what happens when you have a moan on here ain't it Snoots? ![]() |
