RE: Not The Town O'Clock News - Lord Snooty - 19-07-2023

Mike Hellawell, played a couple of seasons with us in the 60s, has died aged 85.

He also played for England and reached the Fairs Cup Final with Birmingham. Also won the League Cup with them.

Julian Winter has now turned up as Blackpool CEO. Oh, he does like to be beside the seaside.

Going up in the world again. I see.

He won't mind as long as he can wear over the knee socks. It's probably written into his contracts.

Ryan Schofield signs for Portsmouth.

He's done well to get Pompey, I thought he was more in the range of Golcar

The Shaymen have dodged one there. He looked OK for a few games for us, then he got the (daren't come off my line) dithers for some reason.
Was rarely in command of the goal line let alone the 6yd or 18yd box the last few times he played regularly for us.

Dear BBC 5 Live (and any other Radio Station that still reads out the Classified Results at 5pm on Saturday afternoon) - can you put it back to 5:30pm please? I haven't made it back to the car for 5pm for many a season and have been lucky if I catch the end of League 1 or 2 if I leave "early" i.e. when the 4th official decides he/she wants another 5 minutes. With these new rules about time wasting, we've no chance. The old "10 minutes at half-time" was expanded to start the 2nd half well after 4pm yonks ago. Saturday games will be finishing just before Sunday games kick-off at this rate.

Good luck with catching that 5:30pm bus/train if you want to stay to the end on a rare 3pm Saturday kick-off day and catching the last ones home in mid-week with these rules coming in. Playing to empty stadiums for the last 15 minutes might shake things up a bit.

That's all we need, more added on time when we're getting spanked by Leicester at home. The world cup was ridiculous for added time in the group stages and I expect the new football season will be equally ridiculous in the first couple of months.

By the way the Town v Leicester game is on International TV (ESPN,BEin and plenty other channels)
