RE: WBA 2018/19 Xfer Window - (19 June) Championship Rebuild - Beefy 1965 - 20-06-2018 Breaking: West Brom have released out of contract trio Gareth McAuley, Claudio Yacob and Boaz Myhill. James Morrison, who is also out of contract this summer, will return for pre-season training on Monday. #wba RE: WBA 2018/19 Xfer Window - (19 June) Championship Rebuild - WBA-Josh - 20-06-2018 (20-06-2018, 15:57)Beefy 1965 Wrote: Breaking: West Brom have released out of contract trio Gareth McAuley, Claudio Yacob and Boaz Myhill. I thought McAuley and Yacob would have been good squad players for next season. Good luck to them wherever they go. RE: WBA 2018/19 Xfer Window - (19 June) Championship Rebuild - Dingle-Dingle - 20-06-2018 The rebuild just got a lot bigger.. DD ![]() ![]() RE: WBA 2018/19 Xfer Window - (19 June) Championship Rebuild - betterthanbaird - 20-06-2018 Think we should have kept both of them, especially with so much uncertainty about who will be poached by premier league teams, it's conceivable that we'll run out of centre backs at the start of the season, so I'd have kept them on just for continuity and to make sure the squad doesn't end up looking too bare or with too many new faces. Both of them have been great servants to the club and 2 of my favourite players we've had. Yacob was a massive part of our team as soon as he joined and we've still not got near to the midfield of him and Mulumbu in his debut season. Obviously McAuley was a massive part of us having so many consecutive seasons in the premier league and was one of our standout players for many of those seasons, always loved seeing a man of his age be so good for so long and his massive goal threat will be missed. Hopefully he'll move on to a decent club. RE: WBA 2018/19 Xfer Window - (19 June) Championship Rebuild - drewks - 20-06-2018 Personally I can see the sense in all 3 decisions, although I agree it makes CB recruitment much more of a priority. GM has been a fantastic player and quite an icon, but sadly his time is probably up. (Isn't Steve Gerrard after him? What a move that'd be for him!) Yacob for me blows little hot and cold, and is always a walking time bomb! Can understand BD here. VERY glad that Mozza may well be staying........what's the exact position with him - cant he chose another club if out of contract? Hopefully he won't! RE: WBA 2018/19 Xfer Window - (19 June) Championship Rebuild - Worldclassalbion - 20-06-2018 A mistake imo re Yacob especially. He’s just what you need in the middle in the Championship. Hope Mozza gets a new contract. GMac needs to be playing. Again I would have offered him a 12 month contract even if to end up in a defensive coaching role. Myhill did well for us when required and I wish them all well. Always welcome at The Hawthorns. Thank you guys for your commitment to The Albion RE: WBA 2018/19 Xfer Window - (19 June) Championship Rebuild - Dingle-Dingle - 20-06-2018 West Brom have rejected Burnley's initial bid for Jay Rodriguez, with the 28-year-old English striker open to returning to his former club. That's right, and letting both Eygyptians go as well won't help. They must have some fiendish plan or another to replace them all.
