Yet again impeccable timing by the Baggies. Whistle

Obviously the recruitment last summer wasn't good enough but this concerns me slightly because it gives TP more power and control over transfers. Tony demonstrated at Stoke that his biggest area of weakness was transfers, paying over the odds for mediocre players. I think he'd benefit from having other people around him helping in that area but it seems far too late for anyone to be appointed and make an impact this summer. Why was this not done either months ago or in a few months' time? I imagine it was the result of a "season review" but it still seems weird timing.

Very strong rumours that Ricky Lambert is going to join the Baggies. Think he could do a good job for us.

Not sure, on one hand his style of play would be more suited to us, than it was a fast on the ground Liverpool.  On the other he is 33 and has scored 11 in 33 with all of Liverpool's stars around him.

RE: WBA Summer 2015 Transfer Window - BaggieMan - 01-07-2015

Be a good bench man for the Baggies and a better option than Sicknote that's for sure.

I imagine he could do a job for us. I just don`t think he would be our "Marque??" signing though. DD Rolleyes Rolleyes

Liverpool striker Rickie Lambert, 33, is the subject of interest from West Bromwich Albion, while the England international has also been linked with QPR and Bournemouth. (Liverpool Echo)

West Brom are nearing a deal for QPR's Scotland winger Matty Phillips, 24, and have also offered a new contract to coach Gerry Francis. (Birmingham Mail)

From the Express and Star today.......really ?? REALLY ???

Charlie Austin's potential move to the Hawthorns became more realistic today as Newcastle's interest in the striker decreased.

Tony Pulis is homing in on a double QPR raid and looking to spend £22 million on Austin and Matty Phillips plus Rickie Lambert.

What happened to all the talk regards signing Cristian Benavente? or was that all rumours

RE: WBA Summer 2015 Transfer Window - tidy - 01-07-2015

People may disagree with me on this but imo we need 'proven' premier league players to come and help next season.

Jonny Foreigner may come with good credentials from 'other' leagues but far too often are found wanting in even the most simple PL game aka Ideye, Davidson, Gamboa plus most of the other misfits we invested in last summer.

No real suprise that Lescott, Fletcher and even Gardner were our best 'new' players last year.

Give me a 33 year old Ricky Lambert over Brown Ideye any day of the week.... Thumb up
