I agree that MM is running the club better than it was before but it still begs the question that with our increased revenue via being in the Championship and TV income and with our wage bill not being that high compared to others, why are we losing as much as 6m per year?? It certainly isn't being spent on the ground, nor middlewood road and while yes we have a scouting and academy set up now, that shouldn't be making that much difference. For me the numbers don't add up and I do wonder how much money is going out of the club?? And we don't have the funds to pay what we are paying if we are losing 6m per year!!! Thats a 30% loss with our current revenues, if god forbid MM was to croak tomorrow we would be seriously in debt very quickly!! RE: 2014-15 Second Half & January Transfer Window - Thurnscoe_OWL - 20-01-2015 We spent just over £2m 2/3years ago on Middlewood road to improve the facilities because they were getting to a state of disrepair, we keep spending on the scouting network (which was disbanded under Dave Allen) and we have just brought in new development coaches. The academy is now considered to be on par to pigs training/academy grounds and this will bear fruits in the next 3/4 years IF WE KEEP INVESTING. If I/we can find the financial statements for this last year then we can have a look through and see what we've spent money on and whether we think it adds up RE: 2014-15 Second Half & January Transfer Window - madsteve - 21-01-2015 http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2015/01/21/report-sheffield-wednesday-close-on-deal-for-manchester-united-s/ RE: 2014-15 Second Half & January Transfer Window - Thurnscoe_OWL - 21-01-2015 was reading about Keane earlier, he's young, hardly set the world alight when he's had the chance and just been laid off with a long term knee injury ![]() ![]() RE: 2014-15 Second Half & January Transfer Window - Statesideowl - 21-01-2015 Get them injured falling stars signed up! Running at a loss of 125k a week it's no wonder we can't even repaint the old lady. RE: 2014-15 Second Half & January Transfer Window - Thurnscoe_OWL - 21-01-2015 The BIG problem we have is th players on the fringe who don't even look like providing competition or breaking into the squad at all and those constantly injured. Moving these on could clear some wages for new players: McCabe £6000 Corry £6000 Zayatte £10000 (probably) Coke £8000? Madine £10000 Buxton £10000 Kelhar £6000? That gives us almost £55000 which could get us 3/4 new players (wages wise) to actually compete for a place IN THE SQUAD Also if we could get some youngsters out on loan to L1/L2 we can see how they're going to handle 1st team football: Floro De Havilland Young Wildsmith Dawson Betra We have a small squad, I know, but if we replaced 3 of them who NEVER play and brought in 2 who would play then we'd be better off in my eyes RE: 2014-15 Second Half & January Transfer Window - Statesideowl - 21-01-2015 Christ, I forgot Kelhar even existed didn't he only sign for 6 months though? There are too many periphery players that don't feature for sure. RE: 2014-15 Second Half & January Transfer Window - Thurnscoe_OWL - 21-01-2015 Kelhar here til end of the season ![]() RE: 2014-15 Second Half & January Transfer Window - Owlkev71 - 21-01-2015 Out for the season that Kelhar, injured in pre season if I recall correctly. RE: 2014-15 Second Half & January Transfer Window - Thurnscoe_OWL - 21-01-2015 he's back in training apparently (according to SG) but do we need him? |
