RE: Not The Town O'Clock News - Lord Snooty - 17-02-2023 Another one gone. Colin Dobson, of the 69/70 2nd Division champions, has died, aged 82. RE: Not The Town O'Clock News - Lord Snooty - 17-02-2023 Two in one day. Kevin Bird has died. He played one game for us in 1983. RE: Not The Town O'Clock News - Lord Snooty - 01-03-2023 Jim Goodwin is back in another job. He's got the Dundee Utd job. Can't believe they chose him when Mark Fotheringham is still available. ![]() RE: Not The Town O'Clock News - jjamez - 01-03-2023 And reading could be set for some points deducted RE: Not The Town O'Clock News - themaclad - 13-03-2023 Congratulatons you've got a transfer embargo RE: Not The Town O'Clock News - theo_luddite - 13-03-2023 Just as the Easter Egg transfer window was about to open too - oh! Hang on. Well at least Burnley can't pinch any of our best players for their final promotion push either. RE: Not The Town O'Clock News - WakeyTerrier - 14-03-2023 How on earth have we got ourselves into a situation where administration is now being talked about. Our two owners should be hanging their heads in shame that they've let it come to this. Getting to the Premier League was supposed to be a "step change" for us that would see us compete at the top end of the championship for the next decade. Before we got to the promised land of the Premier League we were told we couldn't compete with teams on Parachute payments and then when we got relegated we were told we couldn't compete because the parachute payments were for paying wages/debts. It's been a complete mess and whilst blame can be apportioned to nearly everybody within the club (board/directors/DOF's/coaches and players) the vast majority of this mess starts and ends in the boardroom. We may have had the "ride of our lives" as one supporter said to me but the end result is we are going back to League One where this journey began but we are likely to be in a bigger mess than when the journey started. RE: Not The Town O'Clock News - theo_luddite - 14-03-2023 Seen it "hypothesised" that the "Pure" company that potless Phil set up as a legal entity to run the club and was supposedly independent of his Pure Legal et al entities that went bust, might not have been as independent as was made out. The Admins for his other businesses spotted some money shuffling going on involving the football one (don't know which way), which means the football one might now go into administration - we know where that leads, even if the club itself is solvent (with funds from Deano). RE: Not The Town O'Clock News - WakeyTerrier - 14-03-2023 I have a text dated 27/11/21, which basically says the exact same thing RE: Not The Town O'Clock News - theo_luddite - 14-03-2023 It might have legs then. |
