64 Cup Final??

Hello Hello
Joey Mayo, Joey Mayo

Such a trier, but not quite upto 1st Division standard when we got back in '76. But they loved him at Leyton Orient (who we sold him to). I got a cab in London once, and the Driver never stopped telling me how good Joe was. (I lied that we really missed him! Laugh )

Millington: I think it was our 1st game for 3 months, or thereabouts, after the 1963 Great Winter. We must have been rustier than THEM 'cos they whacked us 7-0 at Molyneux. Don't know whether Tony was at fault or not, but I was getting so much stick at school and I had to deflect all the piss-take, so I claimed that Tony was injured early in the game, so they never really beat us at all!!

RE: Pointless - this week N & O - talkSAFT - 13-08-2017

Last week there were some pretty obscure ones, thanks to WCA, Bierzo, DD, and Beef.

This Week WBA players past & present whose surnames begin with N & O:

Don't forget:  you must have seen him play (just to exclude 19th Century etc players who are of no real interest to most) and, just for interest and debate, add a few notes about the player.

Like the TV gameshow Pointless, aim for the most obscure players you can remember, and no peeking at WBA History books.

RE: Pointless - this week N & O - silverbaggie - 13-08-2017

Gary Owen;- my worst memory. For the very first time taking non Baggie mates to watch us play Forest the season after we did so well to finish 3rd.
Gary put us in front to my and all Baggies delight but, it all went tits up after that.
Brian Clough's Forest ran out 5-1 winners in the end.

Then there was John Osborne one of our greats.
And finally Gary Nesbit.

No pointless names there but, never mind eh!

RE: Pointless - this week N & O - Beefy 1965 - 13-08-2017

Mr Wo1ve5 and his hatrick
Bit of a prat in the end , but that game at the custard bowl will be etched in my memory 4eva
Thanks for the memories Odem Thumb up

Reckon Gary Nesbit is Gordon Nisbett Silverbaggie.

He started off as a goalkeeper and then converted to right-back. Never saw him play for Albion (just before my time...) although I think he was playing for Plymouth when they knocked us out of the cup in the mid-80s..

Can't think of any other Ns or Os Huh
