It kinda confirms what you've previously alluded to re the change in English footie hooliganism which is for the better anyway although it clearly still has not disappeared yet. RE: And the violence begins again as a big England match looms in Euro 2016!!! - St Charles Owl - 18-06-2016 Croatia are the latest team to see their fans cause trouble, but this one can be viewed as a solo, self inflicted act from the look of it!! Fighting amongst themselves and causing a huge delay by throwing up to 15 flares onto the pitch, extra time that allowed the Czech Republic to get a draw!!! ![]() ![]() Serious questions to our Scottish posters, obviously in Scotland there is a lot of hatred between Rangers and Celtic fans (and others but this is the most obvious one), how do these fans co-exist when following Scotland?? You see the club names on the England flags, do you have the same and does this lead to any trouble within your fans or is it all forgotten like with most international fans when following the national side?? RE: And the violence begins again as a big England match looms in Euro 2016!!! - El Car - 18-06-2016 It's not really a problem. The worst elements of the Celtic support are plastic paddies who would rather support Ireland than their own country, and likewise the worst elements of the Rangers support reject Scottish identity in favour of being British. The rest can all get on just fine. Nowadays there aren't a lot of Rangers fans proactively supporting the national team because when our players play for the side they get booed by the more prejudiced element of the national support. I pretty much gave up on going to Scotland games when our captain at the time, Gary McAllister, was booed off the park by our own him support. Maybe in contrast to some of what's gone on in France, our fans are at their best travelling abroad and hanging about drinking in the bars, and we're at our worst when we're in the stadium and supposed to be getting behind our players. |
