Not a good night quite a few of your players didn't last 90 minutes

Chesterfield been drawn away to Glossop North End again in the 3rd round tie is scheduled to be played on the 7th Dec 19:45 KO.

RE: Derbyshire Senior Cup - spireitematt - 09-12-2015

Lost 5-3 to Glossop.

This was the line up which played.

1. Aaron Chapman
2. Tom Jarrald
3. Derek Daly
4. Michael Onovwigun
5. Ritchie Humphreys
6. Lawrence Maguire
7. Gboly Ariyibi
8. Byron Harrison
9. Mani Dieseruvwe
10. Jake Orrell
11. Rai Simons

I know its the Derbyshire Senior Cup and I know Glossop are doing quite well near the top of the Evo-Stik Division One North after winning the North West Counties league last season but there are several first teamers in that team and to lose 5-3 to Glossop is unacceptable.

Very strange side .... Inexperienced three at the back? ....... Hump and Onovwigun? ....... Then five essentially forward going players? What? Not too surprised they let in five ...... Shame cos I like the idea of us bringing players through, but we aren't meant to win the Derbyshire Cup are we? We're there to give the winner a bit of status. Well done Glossop ....

The good thing about the Derbyshire Senior Cup is playing the other Derbyshire teams and scouting the other teams players. We aren't meant to win the cup and a lot of other non-league teams aren't particular happy that we are in it but apparently we have to be in it to compete in the FA Cup but oddly Derby don't have to take part in the DSC.

Surely your participation in the FA Cup is contingent of you being members of the FA and FL and nothing to do with the Derbyshire Senior Cup???

RE: Derbyshire Senior Cup - Devongone - 11-12-2015

I think you'd only have to be a Senior Side with the FA to compete in the FA Cup - junior (which has always seemed a perjorative description of them) teams can't ............ The FA is pretty archaic in its structure though, which allowed someone with the lack of insight of Geoff Thompson to rise through the ranks of Sheffield and Hallamshire to head the FA, and as a FIFA representative to sit on his hands whenever he wasn't applauding or shaking hands with Sepp Blatter .....

If we can't scout other teams in one of smallest counties without having actually to play them in the Derbyshire Cup ...... it's a pretty poor do. Surely we keep an eye on Buxton, Glossop, Matlock, Mickleover, Belper, Staveley, Ilkeston et al don't we?

That's what I was told by a Buxton fan but they could be wrong but just been doing some reading and both Derby County and us were entered into the Derbyshire Senior Cup again back in 2010-2011 because Derby County didn't want to take part in the Derbyshire FA Centenary Cup which is a pre-season friendly played between Derby and Chesterfield.

RE: Derbyshire Senior Cup - Devongone - 11-12-2015

FROM THE FA WEBSITE:-

Entry Requirements

The FA Cup

Clubs to be automatically accepted subject to the ground conforming to the minimum standard:

- Clubs in The FA Premier League, The Football League and in Steps 1, 2, 3 & 4 of The FA National League System.

- Clubs in Step 5 of The FA National League System.

- Clubs relegated to Step 6 of The FA National League System.

- Clubs in Step 6 of The FA National League System finishing in a League position 1-4 of the preceding season.

- Clubs to be accepted subject to available places and subject to the ground conforming to the minimum standard:

- Clubs playing in Step 6 of The FA National League System finishing in a League position below 4 of the preceding season.

So we don't need to play in the Derbyshire Senior Cup if we're sick of losing to Graham St Prims or Glossop NE.

RE: Derbyshire Senior Cup - spireitematt - 13-12-2016

Beat Aston United 8-0 and will face Matlock in the quarter-finals. Dennis got a hat trick and so did German.
