RE: Town at Stoke City - Lord Snooty - 01-10-2019 Well that was a very dull first half indeed. RE: Town at Stoke City - jjamez - 01-10-2019 Yes, very. Two poor sides, can see why we are both where we are. Kachunga should have bagged. Then it's been basically all defence. Oh and it's cold, just not raining... Yet RE: Town at Stoke City - Lord Snooty - 01-10-2019 Bacunaaaaaaa On the ground where he scored the comedy own goal Bloody hell! RE: Town at Stoke City - Amelia Chaffinch - 01-10-2019 Anyone in shock? In need of a helpline number? RE: Town at Stoke City - theo_luddite - 01-10-2019 Not quite as good as this ..... but it's a start ![]() Well, we've had worse days - oh, someone already said that. ![]() RE: Town at Stoke City - Lord Snooty - 01-10-2019 That injury time was almost as nerve wracking as the penalty shoot out at Wembley. RE: Town at Stoke City - SHEP_HTAFC - 02-10-2019 Well a win is a win is a win. First time in 20 games. I'll take that... But that was a shockingly bad game to watch. Really dire.....two rubbish teams. Only one bit of magic from Bacuna decided the game. This playing out from the back thing only works if you have good ball playing defenders and centre mids in your team. We don't and we get ourselves into bother too many times. Bloody stop it Town. I'm not saying the Cowleys' aren't starting to change things around....but if that's the quality of football we will have to get used to then it's going to be hard to put up with that. Hogg was abysmal. Schindler terrible. O'Brien shocking 1st half but ok 2nd. The subs made the difference. RE: Town at Stoke City - Amelia Chaffinch - 02-10-2019 It's a start as far as confidence goes. RE: Town at Stoke City - Lord Snooty - 02-10-2019 If we'd lost 0-1, people would be questioning what the Cowleys were playing at. It was so dire to watch. However, we didn't lose, kept it tight, should've led through Kachunga and then the game changers came on. Not sure about Mbenza yet, but you can clearly see that they have worked individually with Bacuna and Diakhaby. Is it going to be an isolated three points like the wins over Wolves were or is this finally the corner turned? We'll have to play much better on Saturday but let's just bask in the glory of three points for now. Loads of teams have come to ours and stolen the points like we did last night. A proper away game plan and our brave boys stuck to it to perfection. RE: Town at Stoke City - jjamez - 02-10-2019 I think there was a few positives from last night, despite it being a very poor performance and game in general. Obviously the win being one. Elphick had his best game for us, not that it takes much The clean sheet Diakhaby again putting the fullback on the back foot, now to put the pieces together more consistently I thought O'brien looks a whole hearted player, if he makes a mistake, he seems like he'll do everything to rectify it. And that's about all. Hopefully it's the start of something and not just a positive blip on a sea of negativity |
