RE: Town v Reading - Amelia Chaffinch - 24-08-2019 0-1. We've been better but we just can't score. Mbenza on for VLP. Campbell on for Pritchard. Koroma on for Diakhaby 0-2. I can't believe it. But then again I can. RE: Town v Reading - Lord Snooty - 24-08-2019 Hmmphrrhh! ![]() RE: Town v Reading - theo_luddite - 24-08-2019 If we peppered them with shots and couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo, it would be slightly more acceptable. We can't find the bloody banjo to smack the cow's arse with in the first place at the moment. Same problems since Wagbo rocked up to be honest, we were just better in defence and bored them to death with possession football when he was here and snatched the odd goal. Now we're crap everywhere when we lose the ball and still crap in the final turd when we have it. RE: Town v Reading - Lord Snooty - 24-08-2019 We played really well today. But still never looked like we could win it. Even when Grant was clear through with Diakhaby available to his right, I had no confidence he would finish it, and so he hit it straight at the keeper. When he did pass it to Diakhaby, in acres of space later on, his first touch was so bad he'd blown the chance. The atmosphere was absolutely buzzing by now and all we needed was to score and the crowd would've carried us over the line, but no..... ....up the other end and the unambitous Reading poke one home, the atmosphere flattens. They score from a corner and that's it. Game over. Fans hear the fire drill in their heads and evacuate the building. Positives - a much better performance despite the result. Looked much more secure with Kongolo in for Elphick. Young Jaden looked competent at left back. And there were plenty of seats in Costa and no queues after the match. ![]() And thanks to Leeds United we're not bottom of the league. ![]() RE: Town v Reading - Amelia Chaffinch - 24-08-2019 Mark Hudson said we played well for 70 minutes but are too unfit to do 90. Well, quite apart from the fact that I expect professional footballers to be fit as it's their only job, if we could play in the same vein for 90 mins, without a goal it's meaningless. Playing crap and getting a result is more likely to save us. There's something very wrong and no matter what you say, I don't believe it was Jan. RE: Town v Reading - St Charles Owl - 24-08-2019 I heard on a podcast this week that you have not had a positive goal difference since the 2011/12 season!!! That is seven seasons and probably highlights your biggest problem for a while is simply scoring goals!! Not since Rhodes record breaking season have you had a striker that consistently scores through a season and even though you have had solid seasons, even promotion to the PL in there it only takes a few poor defensive performances and the lack of goals will kill you. I'm sure Theo will accuse me of stating the bleedin' obvious but that is a startling stat. Btw, you want Rhodes back? You might just see lightning strike twice if you had him now!!! RE: Town v Reading - Lord Snooty - 24-08-2019 Well I don't think Jan helped the situation. He came in and wanted to put his own stamp on the team. He insisted he wasn't David Wagner. In hindsight, should we have offered Buhler the job with possibly Hudson as his number 2? There wasn't much wrong at the time that Wagz left. He had run out of ideas maybe, but the basics were still there, we were just on a bad run. Don't think we got the right appointment then. We must get it right this time or we're going down. RE: Town v Reading - Amelia Chaffinch - 24-08-2019 No, SCO, he was a very naughty boy for leaving us. We'd be better off getting Andy Booth back on the pitch. ![]() ![]() RE: Town v Reading - Lord Snooty - 24-08-2019 (24-08-2019, 21:21)St Charles Owl Wrote: I heard on a podcast this week that you have not had a positive goal difference since the 2011/12 season!!! Would even swap you two players with a combined value of £20m for him. ![]() RE: Town v Reading - St Charles Owl - 24-08-2019 (24-08-2019, 21:24)Lord Snooty Wrote:(24-08-2019, 21:21)St Charles Owl Wrote: I heard on a podcast this week that you have not had a positive goal difference since the 2011/12 season!!!
