RE: Sam Johnstone - wba13 - 20-08-2019 You are all so wrong Johnstone will prove over the course of this season just how good he is ,Bond ok for a second choice but not in the same class as Johnstone . His biggest problem is that he is being compared to the best keeper ever seen at the Hawthorns. I know a bit about keepers played the position for 40 years to a decent standard . By the way Johnstone was very good on Saturday. RE: Sam Johnstone - Blue Baggie - 21-08-2019 While I'm also a Johnstone fan, sadly the crowd have decided he's a fall guy. No matter what he does I fear won't change opinions. I'm not sure if it's because he followed Foster or was a villan. It's certainly nothing to do with his ability. We saw Foster drop major clangers, but was instantly forgiven, yet SJ gets slaughtered everytime the opposition score. WBA must have a fall guy, him, Burke, Livermore have always been on the hit list. I often wonder who these so called supporters are really shouting for. They're wearing the strips FFS. Whinge over. RE: Sam Johnstone - wba13 - 21-08-2019 Totally agree with your last post blue , I would also like to say Livermore now looking like the England player we bought , he’s slimmed down and benefiting from having Sawyers next to him. I think Livermore was one of the victims of Tony Pulis. When he came to the club, he had a good reputation as a box-to-box centre midfielder with great energy. He joined us and Pulis immediately started using him as the defensive midfielder or as a defensive minded centre midfielder. From that moment, Livermore’s style of play started to change. His up and down the pitch energy started to go and in came lots of muscle, probably from too much gym work, and he couldn’t run as well anymore. RE: Sam Johnstone - talkSAFT - 21-08-2019 I'd love to be proved wrong about Livermore, because I'm always running him down. I thought he was great with Spurs (and England) 5-6 years ago, and was chuffed when we bought him. But he shows no flair at all, and the furthest forward he ever passes is sideways. (Having said that I only got to 3 games last season!) Prove me wrong, Jake!! By the way Johnstone was very good on Saturday. He was beaten from outside the box again last night. He’s not proving me wrong yet is he. I also played at a high level but outfield so you being a keeper doesn’t make you an expert on the matter as it doesn’t me with attacking midfielders (that’s where I placed CAM) but we all have eyes in our heads and can see he’s not that good. Not so much right or so wrong, it’s an opinion. RE: Sam Johnstone - Blue Baggie - 22-08-2019 It looks to me as if the opposite side scores it's a WBA players fault, if we can't pin it on a defender let's blame the goalkeeper. IMO it was a superb strike. Credit goes to the striker. No one from our club has any blame for that one. Yes it was a great strike BUT where were the players to close him down? RE: Sam Johnstone - wba13 - 22-08-2019 Yep they scored from outside the box and if you know anything about football ,you will know Johnstone had no chance not a keeper in the world would have stopped it. This goal was more about midfielders and defenders not closing him down and giving him a free shot . But I suppose because you don’t like Johnstone it’s easier to blame him. It’s a One eyed opinion of someone you dislike , sawyers is brilliant over all but last night he was utter rubbish and you could see his frustration . Not all one eyed I have praised him in the past when he has done well so you’re wrong about that. My opinion is he’s not good enough, yours is different. You presume to tell people they are wrong and one eyed. You don’t know these people or me. Discussion is great as that’s what we are here for but to tell someone they are wrong because you don’t agree is Arrogant. Sure you’re not but opinions differ. I think he’s crap, you don’t. Simple |
