RE: Bilic - Blue Baggie - 15-07-2019 FWIW IMO - little or no purchasing of players and an awful lot of transfer chest and parachute payments will be heading over to China. Bilic has to make his mind up if he wants to stay and fight or walk. Bilic is a plain talker and he will not put up with BS when his reputation is on the line. I think he will walk very soon or will be sacked by Xmas. Funny how he wasn't in a panic and then new signings are critical now. He is waiting for the club and the club are waiting for him. If your confused it's because your paying attention. All the posters who refused to believe we had a problem now have permission to panic with Slav. Dave Bowler our award winning program editor has "left" the club after 19 years service. RE: Bilic - WBA-Josh - 15-07-2019 I think too much is being read into this. Bilic knew how the club operates when agreed to join. All he can do is keep the pressure on Dowling and co because ultimately all this is their responsibility. They’re here to identify and sign the players that Bilic wants. He won’t quit because that’ll be a terrible look for him. He also said in his first press conference that it’s a two year project. That means there will be some budget restrictions to make sure there’s cover if we don’t get promoted. RE: Bilic - Beefy 1965 - 16-07-2019 Jesus what's going on our award winning programme writer has just got the push, A small thing maybe but the rot looks to have truly set in FFS !!! I'm very sad to hear that Dave Bowler, a genius & inspiration, won't be editing the @WBA programme anymore. He's been a gift to West Brom & has consistently produced a remarkable programme year after year. Thanks to @WBAFCProgramme for all you've done for me & #WBA over the years https://t.co/9fLDjDHOlk RE: Bilic - Voice-of-Sanity - 16-07-2019 (15-07-2019, 20:18)Blue Baggie Wrote: FWIW IMO - little or no purchasing of players and an awful lot of transfer chest and parachute payments will be He hadn't seen us play before. After Saturday he now knows how shit we are and hence it's now critical we get players in. It'll all come out in the wash and we'll get another 6 signings or thereabouts. RE: Bilic - drewks - 16-07-2019 My glass is still half full. I know some will call me naive but we've appointed a cracking manager who knows what's what, and knew the position we were in re players when he signed. I'm sure that the much criticised board will be pretty much aware that, after losing 10 or so players, it's quite important to sign some replacements! Equally sure that the springboard will be Salamon's transfer. Don't panic, all you Mr Mainwairings! I agree re Rondon, being the start of making the replacements. We need 2 good strikers (I don't think Maupay is in our sights at that price) but I quite liked the Austin link, think he is a good championship striker. But he's gone and there are others in the UK and abroad in our price range (come in Josh - why you are not part of our scouting network, is beyond me). Would even be happy for someone then to take HRK off our hands, and use Kyle E and Ollie B as back ups, as well as their winger duties. I want a good box to box midfielder, someone coming through from level 3, who SB can hone. If not go for Johansen who was with us on loan last year. Looked good once we had got him fit. Rather that than G Barry, I can see the reasoning, but I think it is short-termism. That leaves defence, we need a £4-5 million Centre back, someone like MacAuley, Jonas or Chester when we signed them, and not a Lugano. Happy to keep Nyom, if he wants to stay, but if he wants to go, then let him, we can find a good right back. Also want another young winger, to compete with Burke, Edwards, Krovinovic, Tulloch, can't think of the last good one we signed (can think of a few bad ones), there must be one since Laurie C. Jamal Lowe looks a possibility, if we don't wait too long. That's 5 or 6 players, it may be a lot to ask for but it is needed, and the 1st team will look a whole lot better than now. Final thought loan out Leko, he is not cutting it. Needs to be shown what he needs to do on a regular basis, level 3. It is no good keeping him for 5 minutes here and 10 minutes there. Time for him to wake up and learn what it's all about. Come on board get your finger out. RE: Bilic - WBA-Josh - 16-07-2019 I’d like Bilić to look at Marvin Mehlem from Darmstadt. He’s only 21, came through the youth system with Karlsruhe as a centre midfielder and made his breakthrough in their relegation season. Then he moved on to Darmstadt where he’s become an important part of their 4231 system playing as the 10. He finished last season playing as the left winger in the 4231, drifting around the pitch and cutting inside onto his right foot. He destroyed Hamburg in the second half in a match I watched in March when he moved to the left wing. He scored 2 great goals in that half. He plays with a lot of energy (was a box-to-box centre mid at Karlsruhe), always moving and trying to find space to get on the ball and create something. He is also rather small 5 ft 9 so can be bullied a little against taller and stronger teams but to combat that he can be moved to the left wing and freed up a bit. For us I can imagine a fluid 3 of Phillips, Mehlem and Krovinović, a 3 that can rotate positions and be changed based on the opposition just like what Bilic had with Antonio, Payet and Lanzini at West Ham. So SB seems to have got his message across. 2 strikers. Zohore sound good. I thought 8m was a bit over the top for Zohore but beefy says it’s well below that. My son’s a Leeds supporter says he was good for Cardiff in the year they went up. Plus remember Warnocks team were very defensively minded. Can we have Janssen as well, he was really rated at 22, before he came to spurs. Josh says get mehlem, So they should, and with Jamal Lowe that’s the midfield sorted. Just want a first team cb and rb. RB I would like DANNY Simpson ex Leicester or Holgate again with an option to buy. CB el mohamady or semi looks a good may be. Glad to see the ages of who we are linked with, and all moving up through the leagues, instead of people past their best and wanting a final payday. My cup is past half full if these come off. |
