I'm moving over near Harrogate soon, so be careful! Where are you moving to BV RE: New but not so new - Baggievicar - 10-07-2019 Bunch of villages just west of Ripon - roughly from Fountains Abbey upwards. I'm sure they're throbbing with dedicated Baggies. RE: New but not so new - Lord Snooty - 10-07-2019 Sounds like Leeds territory, vicar. ![]() RE: New but not so new - harrogatebaggie - 11-07-2019 (10-07-2019, 22:35)Baggievicar Wrote: Bunch of villages just west of Ripon - roughly from Fountains Abbey upwards. I was raised in pateley bridge which is about 7 miles from fountains. Which village will you be living in and when do you move. It is a lovely part of Yorkshire and true down to earth folk live there. You know what I mean. They call a spade a shovel! ![]() RE: New but not so new - talkSAFT - 11-07-2019 Pateley Bridge is a nice part - 'Summer Wine' area. I lived near Leeds/Bradford Airport for many years, but never came across another Baggie. RE: New but not so new - Baggievicar - 11-07-2019 Going to be living in Kirkby Malzeard. Yes, spades are shovels - proper working countryside. RE: New but not so new - harrogatebaggie - 12-07-2019 (11-07-2019, 22:10)Baggievicar Wrote: Going to be living in Kirkby Malzeard. Kirkby is a nice little village, 2 pubs Henry Jenkins and the Queens arms, (although the village are trying to buy one of them to keep it going.) and a nice little snooker hall with 2 tables. Hope you will like it there when do you start. RE: New but not so new - Ska'dForLife-WBA - 13-07-2019 Having glanced at Google Maps and found place names in the vicinity like "Grewelthorpe", "Warthermarske", "Gollinglith Foot", "Blubberhouses" and the frankly fantastic "Booze", I'm now convinced that Yorkshire is nothing more than an elaborate practical joke being practised on us by some Oxbridge student society, who spend their holidays appearing on television and claiming to be miners and cricketers from Ticklethwaite, Sodderby, Sudden Hardcock and Nether Bumhole. |
