RE: Women's World Cup - drewks - 02-07-2019 Oh well. Bloody women are as bad as the men! ?? RE: Women's World Cup - WBA-Josh - 02-07-2019 Have to say that I wasn't that impressed with the Americans. Yes they're a quality team and the best team in the tournament but on 65 minutes went to a defensive 541 and did as much time wasting as they could as the match wore on. You expect that from a team who is just happy to be there, not the favourites to win the tournament. As for England, the players did well to reach the semis and should be proud of their achievement. This is a good base for the next 4 years. RE: Women's World Cup - St Charles Owl - 03-07-2019 (02-07-2019, 23:19)WBA-Josh Wrote: Have to say that I wasn't that impressed with the Americans. Hope Solo was on the BBC podcast I listened to and she was saying the same about the defensive shape the US go to after 65 mins or so. They also did this against France and it invites the opposition onto them and in reality their defence isn’t any better than other teams and they have struggled in both games for the final 20 mins. They were very good going forward in the first half but we had the better of the second half and had it not been for a big toe being offside and a very poorly taken penalty we could have been talking about an England win. The rest of the world is catching the US up in womens football, and their defensive tactics are maybe a sign of some fear of the much better opposition. RE: Women's World Cup - Dingle-Dingle - 03-07-2019 The Rooferoo gave the goal, the lines runner didn`t flag. Just why did it go to VAR? White's goal was offside - just, but no excuse for the missed penalty - being 3 in all in the competition? RE: Women's World Cup - Dingle-Dingle - 05-07-2019 DD ![]() ![]() |
