Dan Gardner has only been fit half of last season, Sheridan's son was sent out on loan and if we sign that b'st'rd Gerrard that is the end of me as a Spireite.

Of the names mentioned so far only Turgott is worth a second thought. Alex Brown from Buxton or Trotman from Darlo, somebody like Mitchell Dickenson from Hythe Town, Ben Garrity from Warrington, Huddart from Boreham Wood to keep goal ......... oh cripes I can barely imagine who we will really get, don't suppose it'll be any of them.

Alex Brown has signed a new deal at Buxton. Player which we should be looking at is Glen Taylor at Spennymoor he's scored 25 goals season just gone.

Yeah I mentioned Glen Taylor several times over the past two or three years. I have got a suspicion he may just be where he wants to be. He is always in the top scorers.

Alex Brown's new deal at Buxton would be pretty irrelevant if we wanted him. We'd have to pay the minimal fee that would tempt Buxton. Unfortunately I am not sure John Sheridan knows Alex Brown exists or has the sense to look at who Paul Fairclough scouts for the England C team. Buxton itself is probably just a signpost on the road to Manc' to Sheri.Trotman from Darlington or Freestone, ditched by Peterborough would be decent defensive alternatives.

RE: Released Players - Devongone - 16-05-2019

Port Vale's releases are worth noting. Dior Angus can score goals in non-league and Hannant is a good player brought in under the previous regime from Gateshead. They are free and wouldn't be big wage men.

I'm still shaking over Anthony Gerrard ......... surely Haydn Hollis is a better bet? Gerrard could get in a fight in solitary.
