RE: Shez and Snodin - Dancingwilldoit - 15-01-2019 I thought Darikwa came through the Forest Academy, was released then came to us? The jury is still out on Rowley for me. Mr Consistent he isn't. Even so 2 out of how many isn't a very good return. He's already played a few games in the first team. Played once in L2 and twice this season, he's also been on loan at Matlock too. He's John Lowe's grandson. We've had Darikwa come through the youth team. Currently in the first team Maguire, Rowley, Wakefield, Ofoegbu, Amantchi, Render, Holmes, Sharman and now Rawson have come through the youth team into the first team. If they are good enough then why shouldn't they get a chance. (15-01-2019, 19:51)Dancingwilldoit Wrote: I thought Darikwa came through the Forest Academy, was released then came to us? Was Notts County RE: Shez and Snodin - Devongone - 16-01-2019 I'm sure he was with the actual academy at Notts County, but he came to us straight from school ....... whether he was unwanted or we were a better prospect being smaller I've no idea. I suppose it comes down to where you think the academy begins and ends. When we are talking really young kids I think that is a waste of time for a club like ours. If we unearth a jewel, he won't be with us by the time he's out of school. In my eyes a player who comes to us from school is our product(like Levi?). Tendayi certainly was AND is one to be very proud of. Gregor Robertson wrote a very nice article on him in November in the Nottingham Post which can be found online. He loves Tendayi's attitude and the work he puts in. That's why I thought he was a big part of our success when we had some. He did make mistakes, but he always came back for more and was a great athlete. So many goals seemed to have his name involved the build-up, not particularly because he'd made the most astute pass or brilliant cross ......... but because he'd run at defenders and drawn players out of position to cover. I hope Martin O'Neill appreciates him, though as usual Tendayi has made things difficult for himself by getting sent off immediately before the new manager arrives! |
