Just knew it was a safe bet !!! RE: Brizzle City in t' Cup - match thread - sloppyattheback - 06-01-2019 An absolute shocker, unable to enforce any pressure, any passing threat to stretch a game Bristol team. The few chances we created, LDP went with his wrong foot to try connect in front of goal, Mounie lobbed the keeper but didnt get enough on it, Lowe drills it wide and in the last minute Dhiakaby cross had too much on it so Stinkyvich was unable, despite his 7' legs to get a touch. Awful keeping by Hamer, awful goal kick that went out for a corner and never got to Zanka early in the first half. As a starting team and squad players we are paper thin, confidence an all time low and we simply have lost that pressing in your face style that served us so well for 2 seasons. Yesterday we failed to show any domination, class or skill to beat a lower league opponent. Its a fact, we would be struggling in the championship with our current form and style. Really dont know where we go from here, we owe Herr Wagner everything but he's delivering nothing, we wont beat Cardiff next week and that's the final nail in the seasons coffin, already 11 of the 12 have been knocked in. We need a leader on the pitch and clearly Hoggy isnt that man. RE: Brizzle City in t' Cup - match thread - jjamez - 06-01-2019 I wouldnt say that hogg isnt a leader or anything like that, but I'd say he's limited as a player, but we need more than one leader on the pitch. You need three or four of them. Schindler seems like a naturally quiet guy who probably tries to lead by example rather than vocal encouragement or anything like that. Zanka I think used to be captain at his old club, but I've seen nothing from him to suggest he could be a leader here, too rash and seems like he could be a character that splits opinions, in fact I know he has been doing so in the squad since the world cup. Then what, Tommy Smith who blames others for his mistakes, but seems more like the sort of character that can try and get more from people. I think that is why puncheon was brought in, he's been palaces club captain for a few seasons and I think wagner is wanting him to help in that department on the pitch RE: Brizzle City in t' Cup - match thread - JUSTASILLYOLDGIT - 06-01-2019 He's only been here 2mins, (almost literally), but I'm guessing Puncheon has been brought in to fill the Dean Whitehead leadership role on the pitch. Totally different sort of player I know, but can see the thinking behind it if he is in any way vocal. Yesterday was way too soon for any form of benefit though. RE: Brizzle City in t' Cup - match thread - jjamez - 06-01-2019 I had a nice long rant last night with one of my mates, I'll see if I can find it Its more on the happenings at town rather than the one game in general Hoyle should never have said wagner would never be sacked. Should have said he'd support him, he made a rod for both of their backs. He turns into the villain if wagner is sacked, whilst wagner can be targeted by the media as if he sticks to his word then nothing will change. Put a hell of a lot of money in this new training ground. Cant help but think that has resulted in less money to spend on transfers, its true we've spent a lot of money on players again on a Huddersfield town level, but I think theres been a couple of acres sized blockage. The training ground should have been gradual improvements and it may actually be better for us. But people are complaining at our signings being poor. But maybe they were the best of a bad bunch for the money available, wagner says what he wants, rebbe finds them, then wagner chooses. Personally I think hoyle has given waggers and rebbe the task of finding premier league players in poundland. Whilst others are shopping at aldi or lidl at a minimum, I feel we'll have missed out on a few targets this year in a lot of positions and it shows, now we'll never know who we missed out on and we're bound to say we got our number one targets, but really we didn't use the market as well as we could have or should have |
