RE: WBA vs Reading - Match Thread - 4evaabaggie - 06-10-2018 Not looking good on the stats front .... no shots on target ..... the Albion curse strikes again ...... go top then go to rat shit, win manager of the month, go to rat shit, win player of the month go to, yes you've guessed it, rat shit . We need to sort out this defence and get a plan b and a plan c ......... I think promotion will be beyond us unless things change / improve. Come on you Baggies! RE: WBA vs Reading - Match Thread - WBA-Josh - 06-10-2018 Turned it around. 2-1. Gayle x2. 3-1. Barnes. Superb business with these two Darren. RE: WBA vs Reading - Match Thread - Worldclassalbion - 06-10-2018 3-1 Barnes 4-1 Bartley RE: WBA vs Reading - Match Thread - WBA-Josh - 06-10-2018 4-1 full time. Terrible first half performance and we should have been more behind. Second half though was superb and relentless and we deserved the win. Our attacking players are sublime at home at the moment and that’s 31 goals in 12 matches. I'm still worried about us defensively especially in our formation. We can't continue conceding goals in every match because it will hurt us when we play a very good side. 17 goals conceded in 12 matches is not a good return. I'm also worried about us becoming too reliant on Gayle and Barnes but get Phillips back and Sako in the team and that can change. 2nd in the table going into the International break is a very good achievement so far. RE: WBA vs Reading - Match Thread - Beefy 1965 - 06-10-2018 Young Edwards at Rb better than Mears any day of the week, set up that goal for Barnes great play Remember No Sako or No Phillips today, think Phillips may have been a ploy to keep him out the Scotland team after he has been out so long so he should be fresh If he isn't as with Matt Phillips it becomes a worry! If only we could get this defence sorted we would walk this league.... You will outscore most teams and will be in the top 2 come the end of the season. You have oodles of money to spend in January if you want and a bunch of forwards who could take a couple of injuries and still score. Just enjoy all the goals and relax, there isn’t a team in this division with a good defence!!! "Albion have now scored 31 league goals this season, the same amount they managed throughout the whole of the last campaign." It’s surprising given who is Head Coach (former centre back) and how we were in Darren’s 6 matches last season. I think he might have to compromise and start defending deeper with less passing around the back whilst keeping our attacking play in tact. I can’t fault our attacking play though. After years of shit from Pulis and his team, it’s nice to see us score lots of goals and play very good attacking football. Overall I’m very happy with how this season is going but can’t shake the feeling that we’ll be hammered (A 3-0, 4-1 sort of scoreline) away from home with our defence as it is. I was admittedly on the fence during the summer regarding Big Dave’s appointment because I was worried it would be more Pulis-esque football but he’s proven me very wrong. Good on you Big Dave. |
