Slick, don't know your age but John Wile, Alistair Robertson and co were probably the best CB's in my lifetime .... solid, committed, brave, remember the 78 green and yellow with a big splash of red shirt at Highbury ....... modern footballers with modern balls have no balls ......... G Mac was great, a great servant at a ripe old age and I wish him well.

GMac obviously wasn't in Dave's good books. Assume he was on good money, probably get 3 CH's for the wages he was earning. Same for Yacob - Pard's wanted to can him in Jan as he was earning £50K/wk.

Remember it well, Ipswich in the F.A. Cup Semi I also remember the train journey back and going past Wembley which was all light up.

Salop, I was there too, probably the same train, on the way down past Wembley in the blink of an eye, filled with hope and expectancy, the cream of division one verses the country bumpkins. On the way back, disillusioned, despondent and distressed it took three days to pass Wembley or o it seemed to eleven year old. Sad times.
