It's a measure maybe of the crappiness (I think I've just invented a new word) of our season, but I'd prefer to look at the positives.........has the emergence of BD to caretaker and now permanent boss filled everybody with a definite feeling of optimism?
Maybe SLIGHTLY tinged with a dash of apprehension, but to me the negativity of relegation has quickly passed!

Drewks, I am never positive or negative at this current time ........ positive about the improved form last six games ....

Is BD ready for the pressures of meaningful games ...... not sure

Wasn't negative about relegation .... accepted it back at christmas ....

Mass exodus ..... indifferent to the most part ...... some don't deserve to wear the shirt others don't want to lose them ... Dawson, Hegazi etc

Spot on, Drewks. At least we've gone down with a BIT of pride.

I’m both optimistic and worried.

Optimistic because we have a WBA legend as Head Coach who can unite the fans and club and get it back to where it was before the Premier League money took precedent. However, I’m worried that it won’t work out for him and the club which could set us back a season or two.

At least it’s going to be exciting which is more than could be said for Pulis’ shit.

Nothing like sitting on the fence eh Josh Laugh

My sentiments exactly to be fair mate, Thumb up

I'm keeping my fingers, legs and everything crossed so Big Dave can become even a greater legend than he already is Blush

Not sure if anyone listened into Moore's first press conference along with Jenkins this morning, a lot of positive signs, including the budget, the overdraft had gone already disming the theory from others we have no money
Here's a few points will add more from Matt Wilson's time line when I get them or just post a link to it all when he posts ...

----------------------------------------------------

James shan and Neil cutler staying.

A new assistant head coach coming in.

No player to be bought in without Moore agreeing.

We have a "strong budget"

We don't have to sell to balance the books

On the style of play..
The league has many different hurdles, they'll see a team that will play football when it's needed, but also a team that's willing to fight and scrap for every ball. We've got to create a team that when those challenges come, we're well prepared."

Very positive statements

All sounds good Beefy and the last point is also a good one. We all want attractive football but there will be matches where we have to be more functional. The days of attractive Mowbray football in every match has gone in this league. That’s probably why some very good foreign coaches have struggled in recent years. Farke, Slutskiy etc

I’m interested to see what players we will be linked with. Hopefully we expand our horizons out of the UK and into the Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark etc markets.

Some more points here and seems to point that more players may stay now Moore has been given the job, Kieran Gibbs now seems happy to stay Thumb up

Darren Moore will seek personal conversations with the players this week as he begins to assemble a squad capable of promotion.

Moore was appointed head coach last week after a stirring six-game cameo as caretaker manager last season.

And Moore is naturally keen to hang on to his best players.

“They’re all contracted here, the first thing is to speak to our players as individuals,” he said.

“That will be one of the key things that I’m looking to achieve this week, is have discussions with them.

“Now the role has been confirmed I would like to speak to them all as individuals.

“I’ve not had chance to speak to them yet, but I will catch up with them.”

Ben Foster, Chris Brunt and Kieran Gibbs have committed their future to the club, but it’s likely to be a summer of major change.

'No one in the world knows a club as intimately as him' The list of Darren Moore well wishes you want to read
Skipper Jonny Evans, £18 million record-signing Nacer Chadli and striker Salomon Rondon all have release clauses and are expected to leave this summer.

And Craig Dawson, Ahmed Hegazi, Jay Rodriguez, Gareth Barry and Jake Livermore are all likely to attract interest from top-flight clubs.

"We’ll come together as a club and look forward to what I’m sure will be a busy transfer window, not just for us but for other clubs," Moore added.

“Together we’ll make those decisions.”

Moore will work closely with technical consultant Giuliano Terraneo when it comes to recruitment.

But chief executive Mark Jenkins stressed Moore would have final say on incomings.

“There will be no players brought in without Darren saying yes to that,” said Jenkins, who returned to the club in February.

“That’s always been the case when I’ve been CEO here.

“There’s no point bringing players in that Darren doesn’t want because they simply won’t play. It’s just pointless.

“Darren will have a key part in the recruitment process.”

Albion spent nearly £40 million on transfer fees last summer, a club-record outlay.

And Jenkins expects West Brom to be competitive in the transfer market having banked just short of £100 million in TV cash and prize money from the Premier League.

“It will obviously be a very strong budget because we’ve just been relegated from the Premier League,” he said.

“But as I’ve always said, it’s not how much you spend, it’s what you spend it on.

“Clearly the last 12 months have demonstrated that, because the club has misspent in areas.

“We need to work harder on our recruitment and on many areas of the business to take the club forward.

“This club does not have to sell any players to balance the books.”

Barry was one who gave it "We want Darren". So looks like we may be stuck with him. Sad

I'm thinking BD can talk the talk but thats as far as I'm willing to go. I believe this is risky and the reality of building a team and playing in the championship with an aim and certain expectation to bounce straight back is a huge task as opposed to managing a team that was all but down and had no real pressure attached. I also fear that if things don't at any point go the way the heads are saying it will then BD could become a scapegoat and I don't want to see that happen to a man who clearly is devoted to and WBA through and through a very rare phenomenon these days. Of course I really hope this works out for BD and WBA but I'm somewhat concerned and only time will tell if he is truly ready for this challenge. There's no doubt he feels he is but he's going to need the complete backing and knowledge of everyone in those hierarchal positions for this to work. As for the team there is no doubt BD was able to motivate them and thats a skill n itself but obviously the team will see a lot of changes. I say good luck Darren Moore I hope and pray this works out for you as you are clearly a very decent loyal and honest man.
