RE: Dumbarton v Rangers, Sat 25th Oct, 3pm KO - Trusevich - 24-10-2014 What about Miller, Boyd and Law? Are you saying they can't all play in the same side? Law is a midfielder, you do know that, yes? RE: Dumbarton v Rangers, Sat 25th Oct, 3pm KO - Fredstersafool - 24-10-2014 Sorry Trus I meant Clark RE: Dumbarton v Rangers, Sat 25th Oct, 3pm KO - Trusevich - 24-10-2014 ![]() RE: Dumbarton v Rangers, Sat 25th Oct, 3pm KO - Fredstersafool - 24-10-2014 What I made a mistake lol anyway you think gers could play those three together? RE: Dumbarton v Rangers, Sat 25th Oct, 3pm KO - Trusevich - 24-10-2014 Not up front. Miller could play wide in a three-man front line but neither Boyd nor Clarke are comfortable on the other wing. Even if Miller drops back into the hole with Boyd and Clark up top, he's not got the energy these days for that role, and it would leave too big a gap between midfield and attack, and too few players in midfield. Think it's inevitable that Clark will have to make do with a bench spot along with Daly. Anyway, who do we play that would allow us to play three up front? Every team we play parks the bus and tries to play on the break. What use is three up front against that? It would play into the opposition's hands by leaving the midfield dangerously over-exposed far too easily, and our naturally rampaging full-backs wouldn't help things in that respect either. Nah, two up is what is required. RE: Dumbarton v Rangers, Sat 25th Oct, 3pm KO - Larry-AV - 24-10-2014 So the most effective (and safest) formation is 4:4:2 for defending, shifting to 4:2:4 and even 2:4:4 when attacking. Overlapping full-backs and unmarked midfielders coming into the box offer better advantages to the attack than permanently marked strikers. That's my two-penny worth on tactics ! ![]() Ally McCoist on the League : Rangers FC - Tougher Task Is Exciting RE: Dumbarton v Rangers, Sat 25th Oct, 3pm KO - Fredstersafool - 24-10-2014 Fair points RE: Dumbarton v Rangers, Sat 25th Oct, 3pm KO - Trusevich - 25-10-2014 #RANGERS: Simonsen, Foster, McGregor, Wallace, McCulloch, Law, Aird, Macleod, Smith, Miller, Boyd: http://t.co/E8prhSRlg4 Smith in for Black? The Young MacLeod must be playing in a central role in that case. ![]() McCulloch misses a penalty, then Miller puts us in front a minute later. Have dominated since. Half-time - 0-1. More goals please. RE: Dumbarton v Rangers, Sat 25th Oct, 3pm KO - Larry-AV - 25-10-2014 Be fair to McCulloch, his shot was on target, but the goalie went the right way (to his left, actually) quickly enough and saved McCulloch's shot. So far, so good, but better when the ball is kept on the deck and passed to feet, or into space to run onto. RE: Dumbarton v Rangers, Sat 25th Oct, 3pm KO - Fredstersafool - 25-10-2014 You should bd manager Larry lol |
