RE: Champions League - Wellowlbe... - 24-10-2014

Imre, I agree. I find the Champions League for the most part to be a sterile exercise, not helped by the home and away formats and the 'at all costs avoid defeat' mentality that seems to pervade and dominate everything. I look at the results and think yeah, ok what's next? The competition is fast becoming the playground for the same old ultra-rich clubs and nothing is going to change it. Slowly but perhaps inevitably the thrills and spills that always made football what is are being removed from the game. Oh well, maybe I am just naturally pessimistic... but....
Thank heavens for the Championship.
